just recieved the james blake LP yesterday.
it has a great artwork, is packed nicely and is pressed on thick vinyl, so it was a good first impression.
but when i played the first track it skipped and i had to adjust the weight on 3,5 gramm on the sl 1200.
thats okay, at least no use for a coin on the headshell. but the track limit to your love got an ugly, repeating noise in it. i dont mind if theres a bit of surface noise, but this is to much especially when the music works with so much "empty space".
anyone with the same experience ? or is this just one bad copy ? thanks
James Blake - debut - VINYL - bad pressing ?

Re: James Blake - debut - VINYL - bad pressing ?
I bought my copy in Berlin this week and have exactly the same problem. I made sure it was a mint unplayed copy (they are not sealed) but there's a lot of surface noise, on the second LP during the start of Limit to your Love it gets really bad, then there is a low crunch on every turn all the way through the rest of the album. I'm gonna take it back and get the CD, looks like this pressing is for the bin, at the price it is outrageous, nice cover but surely the quality of the vinyl should be the most important thing.
