Lady Gaga is a shame.

The general consensus here is stupid, every thread that's slightly out of line with popular opinion is just a cock-rubbing contest. I love gaga, I love pop, I love rusko, I love skrillex, I also love scuba, actress, si begg, and countless others, i don't care. I try to give a perspective that doesn't get represented and put some substance behind it. If that makes me a troll then fuck it report me or whatever.
given all you do is jump into threads to call out the general concencus
i actually find gaga kinda of fascinating in terms of the image she chooses to project and thats all shes good at really
i do find her pretty repugnant at the same time though given her music is aimed at children
Everyone gets a free pass if they gang up on people who like skrillex, wobbles, and anything mainstream, but once somebody calls out those people for how stupid they are, it's trolling. That's so backwards it's fucking ridiculous. I speak my mind and call out people's dumb pre-conceptions, and when I do it I actually put substance in it, as opposed to the hundreds of "
Music is always about taste, and you don't have to like it. Since when is her music aimed at children? It's club music! Bieber and Cyrus are for children. Either way, my point is that looking at it objectively it's undeniable that Gaga has other motives besides making money (she's completely fine people with pirating her music, among many things). She's the epitome of "Fame" at it's best, when it's expressive and has nuances behind it.

Besides money, she wants attention, because she is a whore, of aforementioned attention.

Gaga's got some nice instrumentals that I like, but I don't like her voice a lot of the time.
Also remember, "Lady Gaga" is basically a character she and probably some producers/label invented to help her stand out in an overflowing market. I can't blame really, in these times it's unfortunately not enough to be a good singer and songwriter. In most cases you have to look "hot" or batshit crazy in order to be successful in the mainstream otherwise you probably won't stick around very long.

Made me actually have respect for her ^
I thought she was just like the typical popstar who comes out of nowhere, makes a few cheesy songs then dissapears from the music scene for 30 years until they start running out of money. Nice to see some actual talent.
And yeah the thing that annoys me most about mainstream musicians these days is that most of their fans only like them for the image.
An this thread has been an interesting read, some great points from either side of the fence too

Re: How do people like commercial music?
She may technically be talented but that doesn't stop her music from being annoying as hell and her to be a massive attention whore with no actual substance.
Re: How do people like commercial music?
I'd agree Lady Gaga is a shame. She thought she could become famous just by being talented, realised it wasn't happening, and did what she needed to get "the fame". Plato said something along the lines of best nature becomes the worst corrupted in a bad environment - she's a prime example of that.
Re: How do people like commercial music?
true. still hate every song ive heard from her with a burning passion but its nice to see she isn't just a retard wearing a suit of cigarettes singing annoying shit songs whilst having no actual musical knowledge
Re: How do people like commercial music?
If anything, it makes it worse.

suppose, im just trying to be optimistic
Re: How do people like commercial music?
some people just dont have the sense of perception they believe they do.She's got both hands
In her pocket
And she won't look at you
She hides true love en su bolsillo
She got a halo around her finger
Around you
Re: How do people like commercial music?
she was a ghost writer for many other popstars before she went out on her ownSheff wrote:suppose, im just trying to be optimistic
i dont like her tunes but she's incredibly talented at what she does
i couldn't give a fuck whether she's an attention whore or not, im sure the same criticisms have been levelled at other 'stars' in their time, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger etc. etc.
in 10 years time when she's calmed down and gone down a more sophisticated musical route most of the world will love her anyway, no point hatin, just keep ignorin
Re: How do people like commercial music?
Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger made good music though
Plus gaga seems to be trying far too hard

Heh, along that corruption line the same would appear to be the case with Bieber. Here he when he was young(er)

you're looking at their careers which spanned between them a century, and hers has been about 18months?wolf89 wrote:Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger made good music though

at some point down the line she'll disappear, have a massive image change, come back less weird and making different type of music, people who regarded her as 'a whore' etc. will probably dislike her still but prefer her new image and some will be converted, she'll get more famous, more money etc.etc.
Michael Jackson was making stuff the equivalent of what she is doing now - pure, unadulterated Pop.
Mick Jagger has been responsible for some absolute STINKERS too... him and David Bowie in Dancing In The Streets is one of the funniest performances and worst songs in pop music to me
just sayin

The anti-mainstream drone hipsters never cease to leave zero substance in any of their posts.
