Dubstep is Expensive

I don't want to start my first post on a low, but me is dubstep dear. Every albums I look for seems to be at least £10, and I can't seem to pick up any cheap second hand copies. But then again I am alway skint.

Can you guys afford all the new and old releases?

Also, is there any good places to buy dubstep on the net?

not everyone can afford all releases obviously- just make a list each month, when money day comes then you can decide which ones you want/ can afford... in terms of places to shop, if you want vinyl, support your local record shop, search http://www.indierecordshop.org/ to find your nearest one. If not Chemical Records, Red-Eye and boomkat are good, and digital-tunes.net, trackitdown.net, and Juno are good

if you are into your music, i cant really see why shelling out significant amounts of money is a problem, if you dont wanna pay 4 it then you dont want it enough.

Trust me whenever I get a job all my money will be going to new tunes and new music gear lol.

Just a bit shit atm since I would love to get some new albums and I don't want to illegally download them. I'm not a fan of paying for downloads either, if I pay for music I usually want a physical copy.

I remember spending £100+ a week on vinyl and coming out with about 10-15 tunes when I was younger.

Nowadays you can spend £100 on mp3's and come out with 100+ tunes.

Music is cheap.

Depends how you look at it mate, the guys that make it need compensating for spending their time making it too.
Having grown up in the golden age of vinyl I can honestly say music is a hell of alot cheaper than ever before. Individual traks for £2 if you get wav format, vinyl was £5 at least.

£10 would get you couple of drinks gone in 15mins, how long and much pleasure will you get from the album? that would be my way of looking at it...

money making expert has an mp3 checker that hunts best deals if you want to save a few pence... Glad ya buying tunes tho ;p

vinyl hasnt gone up that much since 1989. my brother was paying £5 to £7 on tunes over 20 years ago.

i spend an absolute fortune on vinyl each month but for people buying other formats (ie your average listener) music has never been cheaper

i think vinyl's got cheaper too tbh. i've been buying lots of second hand garage and some of it still has the original price stickers and a lot of them were 8/9 quid new which would be pretty unusual these days unless it's an import

hmv online is actually still really good for bigger releases. case in point being the james blake album on vinyl which is 24 quid in chemical and only 17 in hmv (with free delivery)

Yeah they were good days. Think i got 138 Trek for £1.99 from there. I remeber having to leave a deposit for the needles in the one on Croydon!!

haah yup. Same with the one in Sutton. Used to get about 3-4 mates and spend ages using the 1 deck.

Then slipping 2 vinyls into 1 sleeve and pretending its a double release.

Why you? The statement is worth more of a debate, though it really isn't dead because people still use it... E.g. dubwise reggae, to say the least.
