Just ordered a Tannoy TS12 Subwoofer

Post by oceanzen » Wed Apr 18, 2007 8:33 pm

Oh yeah :D

12" Woofer - 500 watts. Downfiring speaker cone, (I'm in a top flat, don't think my neighbour below will be too happy - lucky he's half deaf)

Just had to share - got it for £295 2nd hand.
Been thinking about which one to get for so long, but I knew a 8" 100watt jobby wouldn't satisfy my needs

Should be arriving any day!

Indeed

Anyone else using a subwoofer in their studio?

This is the sub on it's side, because the woofer faces downwards when in use.

Since I've started making dubstep - I've felt the need for sub bass like never before.

My Event Tr8s are good but just when it gets loud enough to really start feeling it - the woofers start shaking and the sound becomes flappy.

still waiting for it's arrival so all I can do is sit and wait and type on forums,

I noticed this cheap sub the other day used to be £269 now like £99

I've got a sub and 2 5" KRK RP5s. It's a solid setup. The sub is essential, especially with smaller monitors.

I finally got some time to play around with the new sub today and it's immense.

It scared me :o

The boiler started rattling and a box I had on a shelf wriggled it's way on to the floor.

:D

And my basslines sound fantastic, I heartily/chestilly recommend getting a sub :)
