Its an okay start, however I really feel the drums lacking. are you layering your Kicks and whatnot?
Drop isn't hitting really heavy either for my feel, keep at it tho!

Yeah, I'm hoping some EQing will fix all that... I haven't really played with the levels too much, as I'm trying to get the general ideas down before I spend a lot of time fine-tuning. The basses are also going to be resampled, and I'm probably going to add a dedicated sub layer, which ideally will make the drop hit a lot harder. By layering the kicks, should I resample those as well, or just add more to the drum rack?

1st EQ's won't necessarily make you drums hit harder, it will definitely make them stick out more in the mix IF you EQ them right. layering your drums will make them pounding with the right samples. You don't have to resample your drums just EQ, some parallel compression on the kick and snare, and maybe a limiter if it doesn't get rid of too many dynamics and makes the drum sound dull. and if you add a sub bass to your bassline it won't really make the drop hit harder since the sub on head phones shouldn't be too audible for the human hearing to hear. just my 2 centsbluntforce wrote:Muta wrote:Its an okay start, however I really feel the drums lacking. are you layering your Kicks and whatnot?
