Weed And Producing

Smoking makes me way too lazy and ADD to make music. It usually does give me some interesting ideas, but good luck putting them down in a DAW before getting distracted by something like this

You find it easier to make tunes after a nice smoke? I havent smoked anything now for 2 weeks, can just about cope with 10 minutes on a tune then i get stressed and feel like i have no creativity. Not a good thing, need to break the mould! I do enjoy a nice smoke though, just wanted to have a go without. Thoughts / Experience?

Doesn't work for me at all. I get well too lazy and end up throwing anything i can over a 16 bar loop with no effort whatsoever, nodding my head for a good few hours. Go to sleep. Wake up next day and listen to the biggest load of shit ive ever "produced"

So yeah, I only produce sober.

For me i love to produce stoned. Im a stoner i love weed my music is a reflection of me and thats how it should be. I dont start a new project stoned i just tend to get the most from my weed when im feeding off my sober creativity. Ill nail my track, smoke a j, press record and jam with the instruments ive settled on for like an hour without even feeling the time pass...rarely will i change the course of the track when im stoned just feed off whats in place. Some of the most interesting workflow ideas in terms of routing and effects have come to me when im stoned and its deff helped me with my live production ideas. Its all about routine and having fun...i wud nt hav as much fun if i didnt get to play with my tracks while im zonked.

You're getting the top-o-top gear, while most of us were/are smoking shit with fibreglass embeded in it of either dry or very shit crops.

Of course you're going to get satisfactory highs haha.

Sometimes after I've been producing for a lot of hours in a row, I start to feel burned out and my creativity kind of starts to die, I do just a little bit of weed, and it really helps to get the creative juices flowing again. BTW, you guys should try vaporizing weed, its the best.

a joint is nice when you've got an idea down, i usually get the drums eq'd and and made sexy before i light up but cant be having bare coz lowe producing with bait eye.

sometimes i like it but other times it takes me forever to do one little thing in my daw when im blitzed. i get distracted and then forget what i was doing in the first place. or ill have a great idea, then 5 mins later i find myself wondering what the hell i was thinking that was so great or important lol.

then again i dont blaze as much as i used to since i got off probation. now i just toke from time to time when i feel like it and get super high no tolerance for this guy anymore. also since i stopped smoking like i used to i seem to get a little bit of anxiety when i smoke now.

edit: and yeah weed makes my eyes hurt when trying to use my daw so thats another negative

i have unlimited weed but i am trying to quit. being super high all day every day made me sorta anti social. but when it comes to music and being stoned...i have never felt feelings like ones while stoned. plus nothing feels better than sitting in a car smoking a fat ass blunt and blasting some subs. although i have to agree, i am sorta dependent on weed when it comes to doing tunes. until recently i was very unenthusiastic about it. i spent like 3 weeks away from my DAW. i decided i will allow myself to smoke 1 or 2 times a week and then i will eventually fully stop. but uhhhh...yeah i dont know where i was going with this... ahaha
