What am I doing wrong?
Im tryin to Snare - white sidekick, and when i drag the file across it wont let me put it anywhere except a certain column??
w-t-f.................. is it because im using the trial version?????
Someone help me out.
I cant fill up the column with any sounds?????

Re: TROUBLES WITH ABLETON
Have you done the built in tutorials yet?
If not, I recommend doing a run through of all of then. Shouldn't take you too long and it will really help you get the basics down, which you can then utilize in your own productions.
Try that and then see if you are still facing this problem (b/c you should be able to drag and drop too and from anywhere, trial or not)

Well I think I was just doing it wrong....
Like sometimes when I drag the things into the place where they are supposed to go........ i cant use that specific sound... ..
like for exampple................
I am trying to use 2 different sounds, but its not showing them below? why is that:???
Sometimes some of the sounds dont show up, but some do.....
Do certain sounds show up on their differently???
Its freaking weird the program..... like certain sounds willl work, and some, wont show up at all.....

Re: TROUBLES WITH ABLETON
I am having a hard time understanding what it is you are doing and what you are doing wrong. Ableton is very different than other DAWs at first - try those built in tutorials and see if it sorts you out.

Re: TROUBLES WITH ABLETON
I've been working with live for a while now.
I still have no idea what you are talking about cause the question marks are blinding me.
So, here's what you can do:
you have these colums, yes?
right click > insert MIDI
on the left of your window you see some round icons. Click the on up top.
then, you open the folder 'Instruments' and choose one of these
1. simpler - you can drag ONLY ONE sound clip in here and edit it a little bit, but effects on it etc
2. drum rack - you can use 16 sound clips here (drums etc) and but different effects on each clip
3.impulse - 8 or 9 sound clips and you can't put different effects on the sound clips.
or:
right click > insert audio
drag and drop sample in that other view (left on your screen, two circles with vertical and horizontal stripes)
and yes, built - in tutorials help.
cheers
oh yes, since you're still using that trial, maybe you should become a pirate on the bay, if you know what I iz talkin about?

Re: TROUBLES WITH ABLETON
yeah your problem probably is you just making audio clips instead of using the midi samplers, or the drum rack.
If your laying down audio clips you need to hit tab and drag it or record it into the arrangement view.

This. I basically hate anything with that "brutal electro" sound; it sounds all like HUGLAGHALGHALGHAL
