Friday March 11th BASSIC is proud to bring stateside producer DISTAL. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Distal - aka Michael Rathburn - has recently stormed the dubstep/garage/grime scene with full force. His releases on Soul Jazz and Surefire have been well received worldwide and helped put his name to fame. Not only has Mike been busy writing tunes and playing gigs all over the place, but he also helps run Atlanta-based Embassy Records.

Combining time travel with dance music, Distal breaks down the more ambiguous sounds from the past and fuses them with thoughts and equations of the future. Because of this non-traditional approach to Dubstep, Funky and Techno, Distal has been forced to take a few risks, but along the way has created a very specific and friendly sound for himself.
Bridging the gap between techno, breakbeat hardcore, house, funk, gangster rap, and even pop culture, is a tricky formula to entertain. This enthusiasm has already gained the attention of many well-respected shamans and pioneers working in Dubstep and Techno today. Most recently his first two releases under Embassy have graced the track listings of Appleblim, 2562, Joe Nice, Moldy, Ramadanman, BenUFO, Julio Bashmore, Breakage, and Moldy.
Grizzly is a dubstep producer and DJ from Boston, MA. He caught the dubstep bug in 2006 while overseas serving time in the U.S. Military, and he has never looked back. Now that he’s free from Uncle Sam’s unrelenting grip, Grizzly is attacking the international dubstep scene full-force! With 3 releases under his belt already, he continues to progress on a daily basis. He is already receiving acclaim and props from artists such as: 6BLOCC, 12th Planet, Joe Nice, Deadly and Watson (of Futurism Recordings), Reid Speed, and many others! Keep alert! Grizzly is a force to be reckoned with…
Hugely influenced by the early Metalheadz vibe, Prism continues this sound in his selection of dubstep, playing vinyl and unreleased dubs from around the world. Always in tune with the roots of what started both Dubstep and Drum and Bass, Prism’s selection rarely strays from raw, emotional bass music but contains something for everyone which will insure a good time for all who catches one of his sets.
