Professional radio / tv sound designer by day, electro-breakcore mentalist by night, this smiling misfit has caused so much recent mayhem in his hometown of Grenoble (France), that only London could take him. Since arriving here, he’s already torn up various raves like the Interakt sessions, Yardcore, Glade Festival, Braindrop, Bangface, NFA and various events across Europe including the Riddim Collision Festival 2007 with Plaid, Scorn and Enduser.

Coming from a background in thrash metal and industrial music, with his previous 12-piece metal band gigs involved fake-blood-splattering theatrics and on-stage riots, he later went the solo electronic route as it was more efficient at causing mayhem. An expert in Reaktor software, he’s spent the past few years exclusively designing his own instruments and effects to further mangle audio to his own extremes.

He likes meat and believes strongly in freedom for Werewolves, as proved by the Werewolf Gangbag E.P. on Tigerbeat6. The live set will be accompanied by a short interview. Log on the chatroom and throw some questions over!

dead fader

Dead Fader are a Brighton-based duo who create a crunched-up collision of dubstep, hiphop and electronica, encased in beautiful, crystalline distortion with detritus dripping from it's pores.
We stumbled across their live set at a Disco.R_Dance party at the Foundry and have since keep an eye and ear on their music. They are signed to cloak's 3by3 label with a 12" and full album dropping shortly.

artist bios:

[dean rodell]

Veteran producer Dean Rodell has been involved in underground music since the early 90s and has been the man behind dozens of innovative, genre-fusing records and remixes on many of the worlds leading Techno labels. More recently his innovative approach to music has led him to branch out into the worlds of Drum&Bass and Dubstep and in 2004 he created Subdivision to house a family of labels and artists involved in all the scenes he loves in the pursuit of musical innovation. This inventive approach has led Dean to work with many leading producers such as Current Value, The Panacea, Glenn Wilson, Patrik Skoog, DJ Ogi, Stafan Ehrlin & Cooh to mention but a few, but is perhaps most apparent in Deans work with DnB producer Raiden as ‘The Dying Punks’ - the truest crossover of Techno & DnB and one of the most prominent acts on the ‘Technoid DnB’ scene. Outside the studio Dean´s famed live performances see him headlining clubs all over Europe, playing either Techno, DnB or Dubstep and always destroying dance floors and pushing the sonic boundaries. Deans latest Underhill project to keep an eye out for is the pinnacle of what he set out to do with Subdivision. Bringing together artists from many of the scenes that he has been involved in to create a band/live act that fuses their styles. Watch out for a Machine Code EP on Combat coming soon..

[mc coppa]
Not one to limit his sound, 27-year old Coppa is an incredibly versatile & multi dimensional nu school artist, having gained over seven years of live performances and recording experience in the worldwide electronic music circuit and has proved to be equally as competent on wide range music from breaks, electro, hip-hop, dub, ragga, drum & bass, house/techno.

Having performed live across 23 countries worldwide at festivals, clubs & venues (including China, Russia, Malaysia, Singapore, Siberia & Finland) Coppa is not a short of stage experience, his lively music & Dj-friendly style both compliments the music and entertains crowds simultaneously. With over 7 years professional experience, originally as a drum and bass artist, Coppa has co-headlined in Europe and beyond alongside a wide range of artists having hosted sets & performed with a wide range of artists such as Richard Dorfmeister, Peter Kruder, Felix Da House Cat, Stereotyp, 7Samurai, Tiefschwarz, Mod X, J Da Flex, Al Haca Aphrodite & Adam F, plus more opening for Missy Elliot in Kuala Lumper in Maylasia in front a crowd of 10,000, peforming live at Giles Peterson´s Worldwide Festival in Singapore, headling the Underground Electronic arena at Pepsi Sziget festival with Stereotyp and shared the bill with acts such as Audio Bullys, Miss Kitten & Pendulum and has received national airplay for his various music across 5 different countries.

[noize creator]
Noize Creator’s first steps into music production were back in 1991, trying to mix music and making tracks using 2 tapedecks. Techno then took over, and with that, DJing at illegal parties. In 94 he bought his first equipment and started to focus on music production more professionally. The tracks got harder and faster, and by the end of 94, he had released his first recordings on Juncalor Records, Brutal Chud, Rage Records, Blood n Guts, Killing Rate and Surgeon16. In early 98 he released “kingz of noize” on the midwest Drop-Bass sublabel SixSixtySix, and started his own label Suburban Trash. He also has a strong of releases on various labels like Active Underground, Ambush, Appareil, Bass 2 Records, Boneheddz, Conceptual Chaos, Hangars Liquides, Human Error, Kill Out, Quarz Music, SixSixtySix, Trackless, War of Nerves, and Zod.

Monday 29th March

Couple of interviews this show... Joining us in the studio is the mighty electronic maverick Cursor Miner, who's new single and album are out very soon. Also an incredibly heavy set from Machine Code, who also have answered a few questions from their studio. Berlin's mysterious AQF make an appearance with some photek flavoured dark techno.

Dubwise technoid riddims, mutant breakage, dark sci fi landscapes and scorched sonics from:

* CURSOR MINER - Uncharted Audio

* MACHINE CODE - Subtrakt / Combat

* AQF - AQFunktional

* STORMFIELD - Combat

[Monday 29 March]
10pm - 12am UK time
http://www.subfm.com

artist bios:

[cursor miner]
Completely deranged electronic lunatic with the odd occasional punk tendency, Cursor Miner sits alongside Aphex Twin and Ardisson as one of London’s most prolific, mad electronic geniuses par excellence. Managing to combine the arrangements and intricacies of glitch electronica with infectiously funky robot rhythms, he’s destroyed dancefloors all across Europe including Fuel Record’s legendary Funktion One soundsystem, the Trigger soundsystem up in Birmingham, and other events as far as Russia.
http://www.myspace.com/cursorminer

[machine code]
With a 4 track EP forthcoming on Combat, Machine Code are Dean Rodell & Current Value. Both veteran producers in their own right, Dean Rodell has pushed the harder edged sdide of techno since the early 90's, and has collaborated with many leading producers such as The Panacea, Glenn Wilson, Patrik Skoog, DJ Ogi, Stafan Ehrlin & Cooh to mention but a few.

Equally heavyweight from the drum'n'bass field comes Current Value. Going strong since day one and having pushed the limits withing within the drum n bass community for a decade now, he began with seminal releases on the early Position Chrome label, arguably some of the most insanely technical programming of its time. Later moving from haunted spacestation soundtracks to a more visceral style of dancefloor smashers, he's not let up on the extreme technical drum programming.

The duo met randomly over a curry in Berlin and started working on tracks together. Drawing upon their wealth of experience, it is what you would expect from the best of techno / drum'n'bass studio knowledge: Sleek, pulsing technoid atmospheres, searing Nord Modular synth riffs, insanely powerful drums and earth shaking basslines. The sound of earth being pummeled from above by an unstoppable fleet of mutant android spacefighters, chaos reigning on the ground as cities collapse under the assault. With added subs.
http://www.myspace.com/machinecode

[aqf]
(nicked off boomkat) Darkside future techno engineering from Berlin's shady AQF. 'Born And Raised' is his debut release, which some of you may recognise from the rather excellent Scuba mix out on Ostgut Ton recently. The title track sets a dystopian sci-fi scene with hovering metallic synth drones scanning the surface before a disturbingly affected vocoder intones "My car was born and raised in De-troit/My cell phone was born and raised in Japan..." like a mutant steppers version of Japanese Telecom. The rhythmic programming is the next point of interest, using a similar percussive palette of de-tuned kicks and whipcrack snares as the Antstam project, but aligned in a flow of techno-bruised dubstep swing that could only be borne of Berlin and the Sub:stance events, really. Fans of Scuba, T++ or Sigha should check this without delay.

Monday 06 December. Another year's flown by!

Image

On tonight's show we have a special guest, veteran maverick electronic producer Brian Gibbs aka. Gunjack and Echo Park.
With a discography going back 10 years under various aliases, his sound has mutated across the board from the extremes of techno to savage halfstep beats to disjointed bleeped-out hip hop.

Gunjack previously on our show with a full-on technoid assault; this time he returns to showcase two projects mashed into a single set of freestyle bleepy hip-hop, punishing 4/4s and other broken, heavy rhythms. Expect seamless tempo / style switches and heavily FX'd soundscapes.

His recent "Return to Form E.P." is out now on Jacked Records
http://www.juno.co.uk/products/return-t ... 664298-02/

He's also a dab hand at cheeky mashups and edits
http://www.youtube.com/mashupnetwork

Combat boss Stormfield will be on hand with a load of forthcoming new material.

*GUNJACK vs. ECHO PARK - Jacked Records / Trak Germany
