My office used to be across the streets from Shep's. There was a thai food spot and Id see him over there everytime. He'd have his little entourage of kids following him around, and dude would go on and on and on about himself. He's just some hipster dude

I've heard Banksy throws a fit if anyone addresses him as anything but Banksy..... that whole elephant thing pissed me off too

I've kinda gone off Banksy ever since he did that LA show. Taking his work off the streets and into a luvvie gallery is kinda, well. Hmmmmm.

I dunno. I like all the Graf on Melrose. We had an Invader on the end of our street, once. I wanted to steal it so bad.

the issue I have with these guys (more Shepard than Banksy) is where do you draw the line between selling out and art? I mean the whole basis of Obey was that it was a sticker that led to no product thus confusing the masses and it made people think what is this ad trying to sell? well now it's a huge brand and obviously he's selling those same consumers a product. so now the obey logo is just that...a logo. when i saw my 17 year old brother wearing an obey shirt, I asked him if he knew what it was about. guess what....he just thought it was a cool clothing line. andre has a brand. and that brand makes a shitload of loot.

I do absolutley love what banksy did on the apartheid wall in Palestine. it was fucking genius. i did hear the show here in LA was lame so i skipped it. i don't know enough about him to talk smack

crazy to hear all these international ppl get hype about our boy banksy

there was one of his pieces from his proper early days on a wall at the bottom of my road that got knocked down, bare ppl looted all the bricks in a flash, apparently the corner breezeblock that sed banksy on it went for £400! it was on the local news tonite aswell that this geezer bought one of his paintings down stnicks market or sumthing for like £20 and its now valued at around £100,000!!!! fuckin ridiculas!

seriously tho, nuff bristolians have been hating on him for a while now, not sure why, proberbly that fact that he's mega rich whilst the rest of us are still slummin it!

a picture of him was revealed on our local paper a while back, he'd sprayed on the side of studio one in JA, and apparently they got properly angry about it so released a picture of him.
