I normally spend about £50 per week, how do you survive on £20? Are you a mouse?

£20 gets me;
Basics Apples, kiwi fruit, bananas, radishes, spring onions, bag of spinach, basics tomatos, big pack of basics fresh pasta, big back of basics chicken breast, basics kidney beans, sweetcorn, basics peas as my base shop, then every week I'll spend whatever is left on something different. Cans of soup, tinned tuna, sweet potatos, cottage cheese etc etc to make a bit of variation.
All about surfing the deals too. Got the 3 for tenner packs of fresh meat this week, chuck two in the freezer and defrost as required. Always got some pesto kicking around in the cupboard for a pasta sauce, stock up the rest with a few tins of random veg to chuck into something, and jobs a good 'un.

if you ever need herbs just go into a supemarket and pick exactly what you need from the pots they have that you're supposedly meant to plant. nice way to keep stocked and its barely classed as stealing. just made me remember that when you said you always have pesto knockin aboutwub wrote:£20 gets me;dubmatters wrote:Fucking Spar, I actually think Waitrose is cheaper.wub wrote:Where the fuck you shopping, Waitrose? I've always wondered, with those self service check outs do you need to even pay for vegetables. It asks you how many you have and you enter it in manualy. Surely you could just not check them and just walk out with them in your bags, it's not like their tagged.noam wrote:if you ever need herbs just go into a supemarket and pick exactly what you need from the pots they have that you're supposedly meant to plant. nice way to keep stocked and its barely classed as stealing. just made me remember that when you said you always have pesto knockin aboutwub wrote:£20 gets me;dubmatters wrote:Fucking Spar, I actually think Waitrose is cheaper.wub wrote:Where the fuck you shopping, Waitrose?
