Question on LFO speed (brostep)

on some songs i hear today it sounds like the wobble is almost shuffling or it just doesnt sound sync'd

now i know if i sync massive's lfo i will get clicking sounds when changing the speeds for some reason (yes i bought massive dont say its cause its a crack)

prime example of what im talking about is this right here

sounds like the same synth but the speeds vary so quick. I have tried audio chopping samples of my bass and i get close but i dont get as smooth results as this song does so any tips?

just mess around im sure thats what mark instincts did. just assign the lfo that is controlling the filter cutoff to a knob on your midi keyboard if you have one and start recording you twisting it back and forth.

8ths and 16ths and an 8. in there every so often. no crazy syncopation or anything. aside from a few tuplets, its pretty straight.

now umm im not good with ratios and stuff with massive so how would that be?

1/8 or 1/16 or im just completely wrong

1/8, 1/16, 8/1, 8/24 or 3/12,

I record the output on an audio channel & chop at zero points, aint no chance of clipping if ya do it like this.
maybe you're getting clips because of the wave shape, nudge it so ya get a full cycle like.

also edit when you say chop at zero points do you mean the very start of the synth or am i missing something

resample so you can always have the sound no matter what and also if you automate massives lfo while sync'd it will give you click sounds no matter what. audio is a little easier on the processor and you can chop it

I don't have that problem with if clicking...

Do you have pos clicked? probably a stupid question but that makes it sounds like dicks for me if on an lfo.

two things u need to take account of... from my understanding... whether pos is on or off.. and at what time u modulate...

POS ON : when u have it on, modulations need to be made in particular instants of the lfo cycle, otherwise itll click. Smacking ur lfo modulations to a grid is a very good way of preventing this, cause ur shifting points, being set on timing relevant values, and ur lfo, being time synced... will coincide.

Pos doesnt always make things click... for instance, ull change ur ratio while the cutoff is at its lowest.. no problem...

when pos is off... never clicks... (for me)... and u can go kinda anywhere and make numerous successive lfo speed changes anywhere within tempo-even values...

both are good and i tend to mix em and switch pos settings often thru a phrase..

as for the patch in ur song.. i too tend to think its synced... except for a few phrase...

its really a matter of spending a couple days experimenting with ur favourite patch

Ooo I worked this out the other day! You want to bounce the wobble to audio, duplicate it, reverse the new copy, then play one normal wobble, one reversed wobble, one normal wobble, one reversed wobble. [basically alternate them.]
Because the shape will be slightly different it will skip along nicely. I'll do a screenie of my DAW if you don't get what I mean. :L

one funny mistake actually lead me towards a similar result...

bouncing to audio, i forgot about chopping at zero crossings and put a whole bassline together from bits... (it sounded like shit as it was for a tutorial and i didnt put any effort in :S )

i ended up fading ins and outs on each bit of my final phrase... which made me realize it could add a great load of expression to a bassline..

really,t heres tons of things u can do to improve ur sound

automate cutoff (or macro if you want more to modulate) and draw in your own wobbles. They sound way better.

i tried the pos thing on massive and once in a while i still got a click but whatever i tried reversing and i got some cool results.

Then maybe mess with your 4 envelope (assuming it's still the one attached to your amp). Possibly a longer attack could help?

dont know what could possibly cause it... i triedit again.. with pos off or with pos on but modulated on tempo fractions.. it wont clip

i got it to work now i turned off the pos again and it finally worked. maybe it was the preset but whatever. Now i turned off pos but what is it doing exactly turning off
