because they're just presets. you still have to write the music and have talent for it to sound good

I think the 'rusko' preset in my dropbox is modified from a bundle you uploaded. I tweaked it a little bit and changed the wavetable around I think. :-D

While this is very much so true, sound design is a gigantic part of dubstep, and edm in general. A looooooooooot of people like dope sounds just as much, if not more than the way it's all put together.

yeah, i agree, I was feeling guilty about lurking on this board for months without contributing anything (and I do have some sounds I wont post because I think they're too awesome to make public domain).

Hopefully people will dig into the sounds to see why they sound the way they do and what is being modulated, how the wavetables are used etc. so they can create their own sounds.

The first thing I did when I got massive was read the manual and dissect presets I thought sounded cool, a few of the ones I posted were originally from the stock presets I think.

I use pro tools HD, I'm definitely in the minority on here... I do rewire ableton for some stuff but you can't use vsts when you rewire.

While I agree slightly with this...Its just saturation of a group of music makers.. If we all shared our patches and used each others made sounds - in one way or another we'd all be making stuff which sounds similar. Thats why I don't share patches or use other peoples patches.

I think is educational to be able to dissect what sounds good. if you can figure out why something sounds the way it sounds, then you can use that knowledge to create your own style. The people who just pull up a wobble preset and call it a day without taking time to make it their own are probably not making music that I want to hear so I don't really care about them. if they want to be unoriginal that's their own business.

also, there is tons of resampling work that has to happen (for me) to get the sounds I want. these work as a good starting point. I don't care about people having my presets, there's not one super secret preset that's going to make you an amazing producer. fundamental knowledge of how your tools work has a lot more value
