House party. Play whatever you want whilst doing whatever you want behind the decks.

Club. Better soundsystem, no chance of pigs shutting it down, less chance of records being stolen or accidentally beer'd, generally a better turnout, wide variety of drinks, there's a headliner to enjoy after you play your set, no kids in attendance, security keeps it safe, you might actually get paid to DJ and the setup will probably be better.

Having said that, house parties are great in the sense that you can smoke indoors. That's my main annoyance with clubs!

seeing as i've only ever played house parties, i'm going to have to vote for house parties... Also, playing house parties when i was in a metal band was too much fun

i see what you're sayin, but i wasn't thinking like a random houseparty, more like a "back to mine" kinda vibe. it is nice playing on a big rig though. tomorrow night will be my biggest rig yet. stealth room 2 8)

Good point.

I'd say room 2 of a club the. Free of the constraints of main room music policy, freedom to play what you want, big fuck off system.

basement shows FTW

tbh I'd rather play clubs, because the clubs I play at are ones where I have the opportunity to play what I want. At house parties you have to deal with too many drunks coming up to you and asking you questions, and too many peeps touching the decks.

also on the drunks at houseparties thing, that happens at clubs too. people have asked me plenty of times for requests and shit. gatecrasher was the worst for it.

I've never seen anyone go on stage and request something, if it wasn't at a university.

well obviously theyre not coming into the dj booth and shit but it happens enough to be a problem. probably symptomatic of the nights ive played at and the people attending those nights. "have you got any r'n'b?", "no, i just have dubstep", "oh great dubstep! can you play some rusko?" " "

I would probably think night club for the sound system but to be honest I've never played anywhere so my opinion doesn't really matter lol

i think they both have the potentional to be better than the other if that makes sense.

From my experience i'd rather play a club, at house parties you get drunk bitches asking if they can 'have a go' on the decks and dickheads causing beef and drinks flying everywhere and likely hood of theft.
