Well there are certainly talented producers in this genre still as last week I mastered a 12 track CD
of full on 303 acid techno. Very nice indeed.

You will be needing one of these:

Have a listen to some of the audio samples (some a bit trancey though rather than typically techno)

before there was techno, there was house. this music resonates deeper to me than most anything. i haven't made a f*in dubstep track in daaaaays... since everyone started listening to it, it's just not as cool..

oh and i still looooooooooove 303.. it's weird.. it's not like i was even born when it first made it's mark on music..... but that makes it older than me and worthy of respect. i just love it's multitude of sounds and the styles that evolved out of it. i even like digital clones now... (used to be an analog freak) actually i only starting liking trance when i realized how much 303-style synth has been in it historically

(and 808 and 909 get shouts.. even 606 gets love.. i own one 8) )

Link to label/release? :)

Yeah getting well into again now, my mates done a great dubby/dasic channel type thing on the rs7000 with Juno106 chords, sounds lush. Mixing it down nicely now. Got a few gigs lined up. Got the second x0xb0x on the table being built, 909s on its way when new tact swicthes turn up... hapyy days ! :D

but what's the difference between techno and house??

is techno just more synthesised, less soulful, or faster, or what?

simply put they both came around about the same time, the differences being house was much more a product of disco or nyc garage, lots of sampling, more fleshed out chords, more swing....

techno was created as a response to the sounds of living in a working city like detroit (factory/techno/technology), more hardware driven, more rigid (at the beginning), more stripped down

I make a lot of Electro, and since early Electro preceded Techno, I consider them related. (I'm talking about Juan Atkins / Cybotron here).

My influences, among many, are Drexciya and a lot of the UR stuff in general.

Indeed, although I have to say there was a lot crossover and a lot of influences being passed back and forth. I know that the Detroit guys were going to Chicago to hear Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles and Derrick May even gave Frankie Knuckles a 909. Kevin Saunderson talks about going to the Paradise Garage and being influenced. By the way, this being a Dubstep board and Dubstep having evolved from UK Garage, the Paradise Garage is the origin of the name Garage (just for those that don't know, a bit of history and another story entirely).

Did you get this last issue of Wax Poetics? It's an awesome issue with articles about Detroit Techno, Ron Hardy, UR and Tom Moulton among others.

I make a bit of Electro too. The more recent stuff has more of an early Rother sound to it.

Model 500 - No UFO's is one of my all time favourite pieces of music. Neptunes Lair by Drexciya is, hands down, my favourite electronic album :U:

ive done a little minimal tech here and there... a little ghettoy stuff as well... and everyone ive shown my music to tells me its very techno influenced ( i listen to a lot of the older stuff )

but as for the pure, raw techno ... i still wish i had the nerve to do it... :D

theres something so wonderful about that music..

i think if i had a full on analog rig, id prolly be producing a lot more of that...

My new track is definitely on the weird techno side of things. Been listening to too much Stimming.

I make a lot of techno-ish house stuff with a lot of bass on it. I used to really think anything with 4 on the floor was rubbish but I got into it in the past few years and now I'm really enjoying it!

Here is a little minimal tune I made Soundcloud

Yes, all of this! There are so many great releases from the ur collective. Bummed out I missed a 7 hour Jeff Mills set in Dam
last night, he must have played some of the older stuff.
Last year I've seen Surgeon, Sandwell, Collabs, Hawtin etc.. Each performance more inspiring than the other :)
There's just something about experiencing techno music live.

I'm having a hard time getting more of a raw techno sound out of Reason, but there's progress so I'm not complaining.

i dont get why people call it techno... thats exactly like calling it electro. its such a huge a broad music classification. technically you could call house, dubstep, glitchhop, moombahton techno because its all techno- logy music. techno seems like a candy kid term haha

I love dub techno, and a lot of minimal techno too. It really calms me down, and I really enjoy listening to the tunes evolve. There's a lot of great netlabels that put out quality. I feel like I'll be making techno when I'm like 50, bald and serious. By then I'll have all the hardware I want :)
