Hi there! I'm a 'newcomer'. I'm just hear to learn more about dubstep and also promote a few events I'm hosting. They're small, and in California. I'm fairly new to the scene. About 1 year in. That's about it. Thanks!

I've been viewing this forum as a nonmember for several months now and signed up several days ago. I was drawn here because of the forum's resources but I stayed because I sense a real community here. I'm writing from Louisiana (America) where I live. I couldn't tell you why I'm so consumed by the dub. I don't enjoy house or really any other synthy type stuff. But I love dubstep. There's not really a scene here but I feel myself changing under its influence. subtle changes. Anyway I love the womps you know, womps are great but anyone (I can't) make womps. I'm into all of it as long as it's done well. Sometimes a track is just so visceral I feel like I understand everything the producer is trying to communicate. And it's not just cool vibes, or like he's saying (or her, that would be hot. Are there any female producers?) 'I want everyone to rock out', but I'm picking up all sorts of emotion in dubstep. It's beautiful! Sometimes a track is just so sad! it amazes me that I get it. I'm not mistaken. I'm not making this up. You know this. some dubstep is heartrendingly sad. some dubstep is about how we miss being kids. I don't understand it but it's a truly excellent artistic medium. I'm fascinated by it. I had become very bored with contemporary music before dubstep visited the south. I'll post.

Hi everyone,
I'm on the same boat as probably half the people in this thread. I've been reading this forum for at LEAST 2 years. Felt guilty about never joining,
everything i've learned has in some way come from this forum. Felt I should join and share some of my own knowledge/appreciation. Not looking
for anything in particular, just enjoy the community.

NEW HERE! I've toured this site plenty before and decided to give it a go. I gotta say it's pretty sick just being dedicated to Dubstep and producers of any level. :t:

Guess I'm new to the Forum thing. Have been making dubstep for a couple of years now but never really done the forum/soundcloud thing (or properly finished my tracks come to think of it)
Fucking loving the scene living right in the midst of it here in Bristol...
Big up Hessle Audio, Sub/Dubloaded, Crazy Legs and Bloc festival for inspiring me to start making music again,
Untold, Ramadanman, Joker, Dark SKy, Pinch & Distance loving that sound, this is something new I'm working on intro is too long, still lots of work to do any advice welcome,
Nice!!!!

I've only recently gotten interested in electronic music. I've come here to ask questions you've all heard a million times and to lurk around. So, 'sup?

By the way, the links in the "NEW TO DUBSTEP?" thread aren't working.

Hey everybody. I've been reading the forum FOREVER but only just got an account and started posting. I'm a 20yo musician from Tacoma, WA, and am currently studying audio tech/production at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul MN. (hoping to be a mastering engineer someday, wish me luck). Check out my tracks!!

Hi,

I'm definitely new to the Dubstep scene but I've been around electronic music for a while. Produced some breaks & trance in the 90's for a label I used to run here in LA....... "Rampant Records'. Been listening to a bit of Dubstep for the last 6 months or so and I'm hooked. I started working on this vocal track, it started out with just vocals & guitars and ended up kinda going in a dubstep direction. I don't really know what you'd call it but I'd love some feedback from people who know the genre a bit better than me.

Thanks

Yo, just got into dubstep not to long ago, fell in love, then started making it. I've been using fl studios for about a quarter of a year now, and i love it!

I also just made a soundcloud, so if you are interested in listening to my stuff, check it out.
