dark evil angry bass.

bass samples like the ones in this tune (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fg60boh02Tc the drop takes a minute) i cant find any, any one know some good samples that sound that dark and heavy?. also if some one could provide me with some nice reese samples that would be nice.

i use frutyloops standard plug ins to make my wubs and a massive vst as well as sylenth1. can some one also perhaps make a tutorial on how to achieve a bass or reese that dark n evil using these plugins? perhaps take screenshots of presets and send em my way?

no one here is going to direct you to bass or reeses samples, not everybody agrees on whether sampling is ok, but using samples for basses is a definite no go

I would say there are a lot better bass sounds if you're aiming for filthy, that was pretty tame if I'm honest.

pretty sure almost everyone who's had the slightest dabbling in electronic music agrees, sampling is ok. Sampling other people's basses, though, as you point out, isn't.

Yeah I reckon Sinister Souls oftenly come up with killer basslines but this one doesn't really stand out for me.

i think that's okay. wonder where you got a naked bassline from tho... i've been wanting to nick a decent kick from a tune and found no part where it's completely on it's own without some other sounds going on.

yeah i couldnt find it either, i just took a bad sample, loaded it in a granulizer, made some huge changes, and added effects...so really it didnt matter whether or not another sound was in there, it would still sound fine.

i have many releases wich are made 100% with samples. every sound.

an 808 is a sample (unless you got one lol). noones gonna say dont use 808's.

sampling is dope. maybe you meant like sampling other tunes basslines and using those wich some frown on but i dunno some of my favorite tunes of all time are dnb tunes that sampled old techno (Ed Rush and Optical - Kerbcrawler for instance)

i love sampling. but id never ever sample from within the same genre or from something new. but sampling old shit in other genres is what its all about imo. I also use a ton of loops and resampled samples most of wich i get off a couple membership sites for producers to trade sounds.

also to address the original question, i dont think thats a sampled sound, sounds like synth which is what most people use for their sounds especially basses.

idk i would just take that part from a real kick sample since its quick and punchy, or maybe in a pitch envelope.

Yeah Alix Perez in his masterclass also said that before he got his Virus, he always used samples for bass. It's all about making good music.

using samples for your bass is fine. sampling someone's bass isn't.

Dubstep is defined by its bass so therefore imo sampling someone elses bass and passing it off as your own is a bit of a cop out. I can understand using loops as a beginner its a great way to learn but you should be striving to make your own sounds.

so here is that kerbcrawler scenerio i was on about earlier. im sure most of you are gonna have a hard time with it, but ed rush and optical are obviously capable of making thier own stuff and if this makes you think they suck your trippin!!!!! but imo there is something dope about sampling something old from outside your genre and flipping it into you current style whether or not it is completely unrecognizable or not. i know alot of people will disagree.

but sometimes sythesizing a sound is far less gratifying then getting a sample to fit. but yeah there are a million ways to sample and synthesize but as said before the end result matters most, dope is dope. But dont be a biter either lol. where is the line? i dunno but im happy walking the line.
