7% every year for the next 4 years. regular and oyster fares too. you guys already paid nearly double what we pay for half the services. this is just nuts.

If you want to make some easy cash, they're releasing 750k special edition Oyster cards to commerate the Royal Wedding. £5 deposit + £5 initial top up = at least £50 when sold on eBay to some Royalist nutjob overseas.

I don't really get how transport costs are so expensive now compared with 15 years ago. It used to cost 75p to go on the bus all day in Brighton, England. Now it is about £3.70.

since you're specifically talking about buses, i'd say gas prices are a big culprit

Petrol in 1990 was 97p a litre which is the equivalent of £1.68 in todays money. Must be some other reason for the rise in costs.

Dont forget we have the most expensive train journey in the world (per mile) between Covent Garden and Leicester Square on the Underground. Think it works out at about £12/mile. Anyone who does that is either very stupid, very tourist, or very lazy. i could hop that distance without breaking a sweat. hell i could probably spit further than that...

But nah I know what you're saying. It is ridic. We get increases all the time, and imo, a worse service. Trains and buses can be so late, and there is always some kind of works going on the tube lines at the weekends. I bet for the 2months the Olympics are on there will be absolutely no issues!!
