I was brought into the scene on Caspa and Rusko, but completely turned full circle now. There's still so many artists out there I want to get into, so many influences to be honed, it doesn't matter if it's sub heavy or midrange. I appreciate people like to produce their own "style". But I've always said that theirs massive crossover in styles in dubstep, it's such an expansive genre of music that it annoys me when people go "Urgh I hate dubstep" at the end of the day, what is true dubstep? You shouldn't pigeonhole yourself, it's all dubstep at the end of the day. I'm not saying you should totally deviate from your listening habits, but try to at least explore what's out there. There's some heavy mid range stuff out there as there is deep stuff and everything in between. I honestly think I've became a better producer since I started exploring different styles. The list is endless of people I need to check out. But I still think people who go "urgh, mid range, or "broste" are a bit y'know, for the principles of being anti-brostep rather than disliking it. You can not like something, everyone has different tastes. It works the other way too. So called brosteppers who don't explore deep stuff enough because it's "boring". You should be open to most things imo because y'know, music is different to suit your mood. Chill for a chillout, angsty when you're in a fuck the world mood.
One dub love.
