allow me a question: assuming all ufo sightings are real, why are most of them in america, especially the southern US and northern mexico? do aliens like deserts?

Chances are if a race has the ability to invent technology that can either;
a)sustain their life, onboard fuels and all other needed resources for flight so that they can cross the universe for (literally) hundreds of millions of millions of years without dying, or
b) warp space time around them so that they are essentially travelling through time to arrive at a destination in an instant,
they will be so technologically and intellectually advanced compared to our own society that they would most likely look upon us in the same way we look upon the more retarded animals on our own planet.

for example, they would probably look upon us like this -

At most they would study us from afar. There's no reason for them to directly contact us. Chances are if a race like this exists they are looking for other similarly advanced races, not some self destructive schizophrenic race of insects.

That's a very anthropocentric point of view. You're describing what humans would do if they were in their position. Except these aliens wouldn't be humans. They would be a different species with thoughts and habits of their own. Logic isn't set in stone and the universe isn't guided by logic, but by what we interpret as scientific laws, and we derive logic from it. 'Logic' is a human construct. So our logic doesn't apply to alien cultures.

Also, we're still the same species we were 50 thousand years ago and we've been to the moon. The fact that we're not colonizing planets, lightyears away, does not mean we're less intelligent. Just less advanced.

Not going down this road, and i'm not getting into the whole 'governments concealing' argument, cause i just don't care about that. I'm more interested in how perfect the condition has to be for life to exist.

Posting loads of youtube vid's of HUMANS telling me how aliens exist won't ever get me to believe this tripe.
Equipment on the moon is likely still contaminated with bacteria from Earth and there are bacteria alive, right here on Earth, who can survive radiation 3000 times the radiation that is possible for humans.

The requirements for complex, Earthlike life are limited. But we're talking about life that evolved in a different place, under different circumstances with different evolutionary pressure. A planet, completely unlike Earth, can still have complex life.
deamonds wrote:Also I would love to know how they have developed interstellar travel etc.. you are far too deluded with this shit.
There's no truly nearby planet that supports complex life. You know this and you're probably refering to the fact that nothing can travel than the speed of light, from what we know. But you're not taking into account the possibility of bending space-time itself (wormholes) or that the lifespans of these aliens would be entirely different and possibly their perception of time.

Interstellar travel is far beyond our grasp, but it doesn't mean it is for a different species.

Btw. I'm not a believer. I need to be convinced with hard evidence. Seeing as eyewitness accounts and blurry videos is all we've got, I don't believe it.

they could be huge... like... really huge... like planet sized...

anyone know if there are any laws regarding the possible size of planets/stars etc.

it seems like there must be since everything we've seen has been able to be scaled to a certain point

Precisely. Our planet is overwhelmingly filled with water, including our very own bodies. All the organisms on this planet have a symbiotic relationship with it and have a chemical makeup that accompanies it. The conditions you'd need for life is both exact and completely varied depending on the chemistry of the planet as a whole.. That's why I never buy into stories describing aliens with human physical traits.

That said, i'm in the camp that it's kind of undeniable that aliens exist. Space is ginormous, we can't even see most of it, and here we are, complex organisms walking around a rock in the middle of nowhere talking through a completely intangible entity that's essentially an encyclopedia of our whole race discussing the arrangement of electromagnetic frequencies and how they please us emotionally. Nothing is impossible.

And I also find it hard to believe aliens WOULDN'T want to interact with us. I mean look at how much we freaked out when we found just a hint of ice on mars, or that one scientist found tiny bacteria-like beings on an asteroid.

Hahaha yeah, I agree with Knell, although I'm open to the idea of all this being legitimate (though I don't know about all that reptilian shit), when I hear cheesy music in this kind of shit it makes me automatically take it at least 75% less seriously.

Interesting video, though.

@hackman, whoa man chill. Pm'd your old account (not that I want to digress) about something totaly off topic.

The point is, yes you could be right, they could think way differently to us, they could be able to scan the universe, they could be of a higher spirtitual whatnot, that doesn't make your argument more valid. If anything it is less valid, seriously, If you where off such astonsishing levels of advanced being the last thing you'd be interested in is a species as primitive as our own.

There is just no reason to say this. Do you know how many people here on earth spend their entire lives investigating single microbial fossils? And that is just us lowly humans. Imagine intergalactic/interdimensional curiosity!

the Drake equation doesn't account for Time, which is a major factor.

sure, it's possible for life to exist, but putting that life in our timeframe adds a whole new exponential narrowing of odds.

unless you're talking about immortal supreme beings with vast invisible infrastructure.

either way, i just want to experience it for myself, and be completely sober and well rested when it happens.

YOU HEAR ME, ALIENS? ABDUCT ME!!!!!! YOU CAN RUN AS MANY TESTS AS YOU WANT AS LONG AS THEY DON'T INVOLVE PROBING!

i don't think i was being aggressive? yeah it doesn't make my argument any more valid, but the point i was trying to make was that it doesn't make his argument more valid either, because as we all know, we know fuck all in the grand scheme of things...

i don't have access to that account anymore, pm this one

you can't make that statement because you've never been in the position of an advanced extra terrestrial race, so you don't know what their motives/opinions are

True true but either way it makes no side of the argument more or less logical, both are flawed and both have strengths. I suppose it is a matter of personal opinion and I don't take an opinion that verges on earth-centricity.

the reason why this theory is utter bullshit to me is the solipsistic view of life that we as humans have. we cannot fathom that there are beings that can survive and thrive in conditions that we humans can't. there might be aliens out there made of pure light who breathe ammonia and shit AIDS . think about the implications there. there might be aliens made of dark matter who are telepathic and cannot be seen in the ROYGBIV spectrum of light that we humans see the world through. shit we can't even see UV or infra red. there could be invisible aliens on this planet right now talking to the trees and we would never know it
