@chemicalbliss One thing I'd do is double out all your drum patterns, and change them up a bit the second time around. Like make an 8 bar loop a 16 bar loop, and make some changes in the second 8 bars. Even do that twice if you like. Like the atmosphere and groove, could make do with some tuned percussion or summat making a bit of a melody above the bass?

@NAW That break at 0:25 sounds a little off, happens again at 1:21, where you change the delay or summat that high synth, it slows down and doesn't sound right. If you made the break longer and slowed it down properly, or just kept it and didn't change the delay it'd be better IMO. I like the way that high synth keeps the groove over the bass changing, so you don't get that disjointed thing you do in a lot of that type of dubstep. Mixdown seems fine, the drums, especially the snare, could come forward a bit in the mix though.

@Geeza After the drop I'd change up the snare a bit, hitting on every 2 and 4 drags a bit, rest of it sounds good though.

Here's a track I'm working on. Want to change up the percussion a bit tomorrow by recording some samples, but apart from that I'm not sure what it needs. Think it needs background ambience, and a good bit of work on the drums.

@geeza- cheers for the feedback, your right about the sub, i had a little fiddle too sort it out before i read your post, and it's not just your soundcard, it still very much a w.i.p. I can't listen to your track atm, but will try too give fb tommorow.
@frankie- again cheers for the feedback, yer like the name implies very much the start of, i'll take your comment's in to consideration and have work on some percusion, and switch up of the drum pattern. again i'll try and leave fb on your track tommorow.

cheers

Ah, didn't clock the relevance of the name at all...In case case it's definitely a good base to work from, experiment with cutting up vocals, or putting grain delay on percussion/synth hits to create melodies. Also check this:

Great little free plug-in to make mad sounds out of simple one hits or loops. I've used it loads to make lines out of nothing.

Here's the newest, maybe last version of my song. If you don't like any of the changes, tell me. Or if you have any ideas/constructive criticisms.

@ Geeza, I'm feeling the drop on this. Love the LFO work you have going on. The vocal is a bit too loud though, other than that, it's all good.
@ eldoogle, intro is nice. Loving the synths and liking with what you did with the hats.

How's everyone doing, I started this tune about 3 hours ago, want to know what everyone thinks so far ha. Quality is at 128kbps.
Big ups to everyone,

cheers.

loud flavor, not a huge fan of the high synth i could literally picture someone farting into a mic.

sounds better and more opened than the first version and also note it more enginered the synths.

@Loud Flavor the hifreqsynth sounds a bit mainstream fidgedhouse or kinda raver with that detuned sound, all the tune sounds a bit xtrange but good ideas there!

I just remodeled mine! but still without monitors LOL!

@naw: Not really my style, but it still sounds interesting. There's a lot of high pitched melodies that sound to jokey, but later in the song they sound and go with the song better.

@Loud: I really like the vocals and the background synth noise. But cmon man, bring that main synth down an octave or two :P The percs got groove, but the kick needs to be more powerful. This has potential, just needs work.

@eldoogle: The frequency changes sound dopeee. The bass wobbles start out repetitive, but I'm loving the second drop. The high end freqs you added in in the second half were a nice touch as well :W:

@Frankie: Definitely needs some atmosphere to smooth over the empty spots. Interesting vocal stuffs, tho. Them alone made this a very enjoyable track. The synth sounds too atmospheric at times and makes the song sound empty. I'd suggest bringing the synth to the front with a new part sometimes to make the tune fuller. Great start!

Here's my updated track. I reworked alot of the percussion in my last wip and just fixed a lot of things in general. Also added some guitar, but Idk if the audio quality is good enough to use :?

frankiegrimes - Like this alot, nice chilled vibe like the trance accordian, pads etc. I might bring both vocal elements in at the same time as they seem a bit stranded on their on. You could try coming in with something else at that point instead. V well thought out blend of sounds.

eldoogle - The lower bass track is too much like a pad. UIt's like you're using a mid lead as your lower bass, try some other presets/vst's which pitch down an octive without loosing their drive.

Loud Flavor - see what you're trying to do here and sounding potentially v v good. I would take inspiration from this track (one of my personal favs) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dm3zhnB5P1o

naw - Not really what I'm in to but you have some good sounds. Kindof feels like you need to fill out the mid's in this track.

Ezzcal - difficult to get this kind of wide/trancy/heavy type track to take off to the pro standard. It sounds like you have this ready for masternig and thats when it's gonna hit the mark if you get it right.

z6z - Awsome Kick!!!! I like this...

@naw... Mad tune haha! Really like the percussion and the build ups in particular. Nice subs too. Bit too mad for my personal taste but I do like the breakdown at 2.30(ish)!

@Ezzcal... Really like the 'trancey' type Intro in this! Drums are sounding pretty powerful too! Tbh not so keen on the bass later in the song. Just a bit too distorted for my tastes that's all.

@chemicalbliss... Great beat. Really relaxing tune!

Very early WIP (1min of it anyway). Just an idea for something. Let me know what you guys think. Is this one worth pursuing and finishing? Btw this is only my second attempt at producing something so don't be too harsh haha!

@Loud Flavor-it's definitely an interesting one, love the garglely sounds and squeaks. I know you just started it so i'm presuming you'll make more change ups for the bass and the drums. Good start so far though.

@naw-i love your sounds in this song, only thing i would say is i agree with FluidMoShun that the synth and bass sounds fit together much better in the 2nd half of the song. Good tune.

@FluidMoShun-this kinda sounds like lo-fi jam band but that's not a bad thing,i like what you have so far but i feel that some of the bass and synth sounds would need more oomph. Would be a nice tune to drive to.

@DreamThief-interesting track, definitely funky. The only thing that really nagged my was i felt it took too long to kick in and really start the body of the tune, other than that i enjoyed.

and here's mine, really my first one posting on here, keep in mind i haven't done any EQing yet and only a little compression and limiting with some basic send fxs.kinda how i want it to sound but i plan to change up drums more and bass and add more automations, any advice/comments greatly appreciated

@Loud Flavor Really feeling the mood you set, I find it very atmospheric and definitely sends me on a trip. Liking this one.
@Naw That shit just hit me straight in the face! So heavy man, but doesn't take away from the professionalism of the song so far. Fantastic work.
@ FluidMoShun Loving the percussion and melody work. Not really into the synth at 0.26, just doesn't flow much for me with the instruments being used to open the track.

Just some stuff I've been fiddling around with since I got home from school :)

@Andrei
Oh yeah man absolute sick tune! melody flows too good, and when it drops its really a banger that metallic hi synths suits really good! i like it alot, remember me skrillex tracks if it was what you was looking for.. you got it man! really good shit!

@Ket
like a lot the harmonies of that arpegiated synths! the violins are sinthetized or from library? sounds too good, but i dont like the bass, and dont suit too much with the harmonies of the arpegiated synths keep workin on it man because i like a lot the intro.

Now i have monitors (not studiomonitors but a good speakers that i use) and i note that the hifreq synth doesent have midrange and i need more midrange sound in all the tune i dont know how to get it without changing the synths completly,..
Kick changed, snare remodeled and changes on the hifreq synths and in the mix down.
