Is dubstep just garage slowed down?

if anything dubstep is garage SPED UP...
have you ever tried to mix some old zed bias or wookie with skream or mystikz??? more often than not the dubstep tune will be pitched at 0 and the garage tune on +6-8 on the decks.

Sure some of it was like 128 bpm when it started

Yes most garage is about 130 init. I still prefure Girls Aloud though.

Really? I always thought of it as a kind of mutated british cousin of american dirty south rap, only with occasional rastas instead of mc's....

the first rap tune i ever heard was a big 5 tune from the 60s
