Break Ya Neck (Gubstep Remix - First Dubstep Track) (WIP)

Post by Gubstep » Tue Apr 05, 2011 9:01 pm

Update: Because I am constantly updating the song due to my own personal wish to perfect it as much as possible, I will no longer state when the song has been updated. Just check the song name to see if it has.

Hey guys, this is my first dubstep track I've made ever. I used FL Studio 9 to make the core pattern loops, and used Sony Acid to do the final mixing (I rendered the loops as .mp3s individually in FL Studio). This also happens to be the first song I've made in FL Studio after moving from Garageband, so I'm still getting used to dubstep song-making AND song creation as a whole in FL Studio. So it's won't be too great. Also I haven't had a chance to look into proper dubstep structure or how to do a great bass drop or the right synth to use to make a wobble bass.

Anyway enough about me going on about how crap it'll be in comparison to the amazing stuff most of you guys make here. Tell me what you think, spesific feedback is REALLY aprreciated (I'm already aware that the intros too long and the edits are kind of rough so don't mention those issues please). Enjoy! :)

Current Song Version: 2.5

Edit: Just so you know, I'm working on a new version of this remix that will have new synths for certain melodies and a MUCH tighter song structure. It'll probably be finished within the week and be MUCH shorter than the current version. Probably around the 2 minute mark.

Update: Here's the improved version of the song. I worked on the structure a lot more so it is more focused, and also threw in some better sounding synths for certain lines. Let me know what you think! :)

Update: I am updating this song so frequently due to perfectionist reasons that if you have any issues with the song I probably already know about it. I'm updating the song in increments, so every once in a while just come back here and listen to the song again, see if you notice anything different.

So feedback? Anyone? :(

I think I mean what you mean by no character. Kind of "stock" and stereotypical right? Well yeah I tend to make my first songs in any genre quite stereotypical so I just get used to it, then start experimenting a bit more afterwards.

What'd you mean by brighten up?
