Best: Iration Steppas - could even get painful at times! The weight is like nothing I've ever heard.
Worst: this shitty night in Blackpool a mate of mine promotes called "junkbox". muddy mids and highs with very little sub. absolutely terrible.

best: not strictly a 'sound system' but room one in fabric is so nice, you can hear the full spectrum of sound properly... you can feel the sub bass blasting through you but you can also hear all of the music clearly, which is what it should be about imho... not just having a ridiculously bassy system that drowns out the other frquencies
worst: no comment

Is he still playing Leicester?
he was monthly or so in highfields when I studied there some years ago

Yeh man, still plays the carnival + loads of other dances every year. In fact I think he was here on Saturday but I was unable to attend!

Best: Mungo's HiFi closely followed by Iration Steppas. Everyone who mentioned how good Mungo's system was at Outlook last year knows!!
Worst: Plenty, in shitty local clubs. Mid range belting out.

PK Sound out of calgary, who's systems are designed from scratch by Subvert. haven't even heard anything else close to these. most of the stages at the Shambhala festival are done by his people, including The Village which is downright scary, it's the only place i can still stand listening to brostep sounds as this is designed specifically for it. in fact i would venture to say that Rottun was born out of these sound systems. although i don't listen to this stuff at home any longer.
then again, i heard Eprom through an indoor PK system recently, and it was the best audio experience i've had to date, and not just the subs but the mids and highs cut right through like crystal, even the lights they do are pretty damned good, compliments the sound. sucks because my initials are PK so i must hold back on my former artist handle out of respect.

Think i've mentioned it before, but the <20Hz guys from Sheffield are fuckin brilliant for dubstep.
Worst is Dogma in Nottingham. No bass at all. Bull-shit

Some of the very best nights I had in Leicester were at Aba-Shanti nights the man is excellent. I do recall one night when I was, ignorantly, building a joint on one of his bins when he sound checked only for everything to get dispersed.
I never made that mistake again

Dirt is up there. Pinch & Scientist through the full rig, was swaying in front of that beast all night.
Going to freeparties/underground raves gives you a different perspective on it all. Haven't heard the majority of these rigs but can predict there are many, many better systems the majority of people have never heard of.
Never saw Valve but a very, very informed friend tells me it was a piece of shit.

I don't know what he does, messes with the levels or something, but i've seen him blow speakers on no less than three occasions! I gave up after that and used to go to any other room when he came on. My point being, the sound system was usually crisp untill he came on and then it was ruined for the following DJs.
New cross inn is an absolute dive!

Valve is insane.. i remember buying a bottle of beer and standing next to the speakers, which were so heavy my beer started to bubble out of the bottle and all over the floor. absolutely ridiculous.
Room one in Ziggys in York, or Hub as its now called has a shocking system with no weight at all. Although room twos system is a lot better.

ninebar or matter room 1 for overall quality over all genres,
Trojan or Channel One for weight!
