Spencerdubbin- really unique, almost sounds like you had a time machine and made dubstep back in the 80's.. I'm not sure that it's a bad thing though.

CASIOASSASSIN- personal taste but, I don't like the sample at all. add a touch of reverb to it or even pitch it down a bit and it will work better.
I like what you were doing in the intro but. your drop didn't flow properly it almost sounded like you brought the sub in a fraction sooner than the rest of it. When doing a drop with silence before make sure the only thing you hear just before the drop is the reverb off the vocal sample and it will help add suspense. you did another drop latter on that worked nicely. also remember to give feedback to 3 people before posting your own track.

ItsK- not exactly enough to give a lot of feedback on but, I liked the intro the drop just needs more sub that whole bassline needs more sub actually but good besides that

here's something I've been toying with, different style than the weird things I've been making was going for something real dark and it's getting there. Also an experiment for me because the majority of my tracks do not make use of wobbles so it felt like I was learning the genre all over again while making this one lol

@CASSIOSS I like the gated synths in the intro, the synths in drop are really drity! you was searching to do something dark and heavy and you have! i think they need to change more but like it, you need to EQ more all the sounds because they cover themselves by frequency masking, but i like the tune

@ ITSK man i like a lot the synth! you get right on that tune keep workin on it and make a good mixdown and will be great!

@IOREK i think you need to work more on the drums and yes it sounds dark, you need to spend time in the breakdown

Here i think that it can be the last version of my tune that i posted twice days ago tell me what you think about any advice will be really apreciated guys!

@naw Great track, a lot of cool and wierd sounds you've made there! ;) About the drums.. The snare kinda gets lost sometimes, and i think it needs more punch, you should try to give it more bottom punch, so that it stands out and really give you that gut-feeling when you max it through some speakers, if you know what i mean ;)
Well, thats just my opinion :Q:

dude, seriously...you DO realize that the rules for this thread is that you need to give feedback to atleast three other WIPS or you don't post your own.

And sometimes you get absolutely no feedback at all, even when you post a huge response to more than the minimum ;)

@spencerdubbin - that track is alright, but imo the creativity went out the window when you dropped that bassline. It's also lacking a lot of weight - a big gap between your sub and that mid-range, makes it feel empty. Snare is right on point though, as is the rest of the percussion. Kick maybe a -tad- too loud. I would advise giving a little more critique/feedback than your previous post, btw. Appreciate it, but its not really what this thread is for.
@jsisreal - happens a lot. People too focused, they just miss shit - including my previous post - which gave more feedback/actual critique than most responses on this thread. People just want praise I guess :P I actually commented on yours, so stfu :P See my previous post.
@naw - really like that suspense-driven stabbing synth that carries on from the intro into the drop. Overall not bad synthesis, mid-range gets a bit too much for me, too high-pitched, makes it very hard to listen to. Try making a cut at 4.5khz, dropping it by at least 5db. Also really like that string synth at the breakdown. Really nice progressive feel to it (I love prog shit :))
@itsk - was awesome until the bassline. Some tracks just don't fit a drop like that, especially with that kind of intro (which is genuinely creative and nice to listen to). That pad is awesome.

nah man im talking about my friend's post...hes really new to production and really needs some feedback...i guess i went overboard on anger, but seriously though the dude needs some suggestions...and which post are you talking about? I want to respond! :t: :mrgreen:

EDIT: I think I found it...its the same one as in your post ^^ and its real nice, I like the guitar. I usually don't dig the calm, relaxing dubstep but this one is actually pretty nice tbh

Don't apologize too hard. It wasn't feedback at all.

@naw | THAT IS A HARD TRACK!!!! I LOVE IT! do I hear Modern Talking??? lol

@dmisreal | Definitely the best youve ever made, but unfortunately not amazing. You are starting to get the feel of dubstep, though and thats a definite improvement
@Iorek | Nice, but too much bass in your bass. Turn down the sub, and turn up the dub :cornlol:

not even really a wip, just synthin around...got no fx on the bass either, its all by the power of FM
Soundcloud
I'm not much of a bro-steppy person (although, sometimes I can like it) but I thought that this bass sounded kinda excision-y or datsik-ish so I make a quick lil brostep for it

@amphibian

When the guitar comes in, I can't tell if it's gonna be this epic wash of noise (in a good way, think layers like shoegaze) or this sort of minimal dub thing. I'd probably turn down the distortion and keep up with the reverb modulation you got going on which gives it a very cool old fashioned Jamaican dub type of sound. I'd even say to not be afraid to mess with the EQ. Other than that, I think you'll have a pretty cool song coming along.

@dmisreal

Work on filling out your track sonically. Listen to some producers like DMZ or Jakes or Vex'd, they have wobbles but they also have huge bass and some cool stuff going on with the drums. It's about the weight of the track more than the wobble. My recommendation is to write a tune out without any wub (two basslines if you want, one low and one mid) and then work on modulating the LFO. A cool wub isn't gonna make a track on its own, ya dig? Also, with your cymbals or open hats, they tend to not be used so much in dubstep because of the decay bleeding and not being a 'tight' drum. If you're going to use them, use a heavily processed open hat. Check out the drums on most tracks; they're quick and 'punchy'. They don't always HAVE to be, but I'd work with convention before branching off.

@naw

Admittedly it's not my style, nevertheless the composition is pretty decent. The bass on the first drop is great, just wish I didn't go off into the yoi-yois. Bring up the low end and like someone else said, cut a little on the high end when the bass squeals up. I did like when the melody came back in like midway through on the right earphone and then works up to coming in fully. I think the song as a whole could be really massive and huge if you'd combine some really deep bass with the more tearout synths you got going on.

I don't know why this one song in particular keeps giving me an annoying high-end screech that's barely but definitely noticeable. It doesn't happen when I play it on foobar, reason, etc, only when I up it to soundcloud :/ So if anyone can tell me how to fix that, that'd be great.

Anyway, some feedback would be great. It's meant to be a 'cover' or reinterpretation of the Zombies (60s pysch/baroque pop band) song "Hung Up On a Dream." It's my second 'dubstep' production but I'm trying to sort of go for a different vibe and construction. Got to still add vocals, mess with drum sounds and pattern, and maybe mess with bass a bit,i.e. everything needs to be tweaked or changed lol.

@ Amphibian-
Likes-the guitar and the percussion, both were on point, really enjoyed the dealy and verb on the guitar and the attention to detail in the percussion. The sub gave the song some nice movement as well

Dislikes-the arpegiated thing goin throughout the song. killed the spaced out vibe the guitar provided. honestly mate i'd scrap it and go for some drawn out pads, something else rhythmic to takes its place

@Glue - that high pitched "thing" actually introduces a very nice artifact that suits the song so so well. Leave it in. Beautifully composed. I really have nothing bad to say about it. Really very nice :) +1 follow. PS - what were you referring to in regards to EQ? You mean on the guitar itself, or it's verb?
@RigthOnTime - Interestingly, I absolutely love that driving mid-range I have. Maybe it's a little too loud in the mix though? There could also be some reverb clashing. I do have plans to introduce some pads -as well- , however. PS your tune is awesome!!!! Would love some advice on that clap, as I want to replace my snare with something similar :) The violin is beautiful. The drop at 1.53 is freakin' sick... just wish it had a little more weight... not "phat", just a bit more ... something.

Hmm yeah, pretty much, maybe you can try to find a snare sample with more deep punch in it and layer your original snare with it? :)
Thank you mate! :Q:
