@ponte

Pretty unique man, I like it! Maybe do something a little different in after the drop in the middle, maybe a heavier swing on the kick or synth or slightly different pattern but I like the way it's sounding and I like your bass line. The slide down is placed really well and sounds smooth and it's one of my favorite sounds in music so I'm always happy when I hear it.

@Jimbo

I'd add some other synths to the track to fill it out and increase the apparent tempo. Right now, it has swing and it has punch, but it feels really, really slow. If you had some background doing something rhythmic, it'd be a lot easier to groove to and feel.

@DLO

Turn down the synth that isn't the wobble. It's way too loud. Other than that, big fan. Has a very old school feel, sort of like Skream "...Dark Bubble." Nothing else to really say, pretty cool track with a heavy dub feel that's tight. If you turn down the synth you're using, maybe throw on a little more reverb on it, it'd be mint.

Soundcloud

Very much a WIP, just sort of messed around for a couple hours. It's my first time using a sample as an instrument in its own right so I sort of wanted to see how that worked. I think I'm gonna add some steel drums towards the second half after the wash of rain and shit and get rid of the synth line there. Gonna work on making the first intro drop smooth so I dont need to drop a bomb to hide the transition lol

@Glue Reed: The delay works better than I thought it would; it's pretty soothing. The addition of steel drum seems like a good idea. That said, I feel the main modulation is a little straightforward; added variation would be nice, and yet not distracting. As it is, it feels just a tad too sparse. Add more! I'm looking forward to the finished project.

@ponte_ricky: I like the short samples; gives it all a halting, jerky sort of feel like 2-step or such. I don't feel much progression, though. I think a key shift would be welcome at some point, or a drum pattern seemingly pulled from the air, like an occasional fill. The breakdown around 2:40 is therefore quite welcome. I really like the bass, lol. It's deep, not omnipresent and undistorted. Nice.

@DLOGREZYRB: Nice kick falter; feels good. Snare seems to be lacking a little low end, though. The main synth feels too loud, compared to the whole track; turn it down~! The Reece feels a tad out of place, too; perhaps less reverb, and cut it off and on with the main synth? Or do something neater with it, to make it stand out more; after all, with a drumline of the like in your tune, that heavily processed bass feels a bit weird. Speaking of drums, I feel that the hats can use a bit of variation instead of straight 1/16 notes. Know what I'm getting at?

Oh, and feedback, neh?

As for me, this is a bit chill in comparison to my past work.

miklos wrote:@budsteq: I like what's going on there. Quite good mix actually. Personally I think the biggest problem that it gets a little long-winded. Maybe just shorten all the parts, feels like nothing happens at all between 1:00-3:00. The wobble's great, think you should use it more, but that's just me.
Cheers for the mostly good feedback :) I'm gonna work on changing it up a little, you said that's the "biggest" problem, so that means there must be others too :P

kikaruu- not my style, this is really focused on percussion tho and i dig that. maybe give those drums some reverb to fit the atmosphere of the rest of the tune. this is actually pretty cool after a few listens. one thing you might be missing is something for the listener to grab on to. then again, it could be that really sweet percussion work. either way keep working at this! this doesnt sound like a throwaway!

Glue Reed-the intro doesnt grab hold, if this came up on a playlist id skip it because the intro bored me. the vibe ends being pretty cool, but you are missing groove in the track! it sounding too flat. some of those white noise sounds are a little too sharp for me too. there needs to be variation as well. this idea seems really sweet tho, just gotta polish it up!

ponte ricky-ahhh very nice! nice groove you got going in this man. im not listening to this through my car subs but it sound like the bass would be very satisfying. fatten up that lead synth! but thats just me being picky, this is already sounding great, these sounds just sound liek they needs a little polishing. great job with this tho! this track is easily keeping my attention!

DLOGREZYRB-shit the intro is making me wanna dip some molly! hahaha! thats all u get tho cos u gave no feedback :p

hope i dont sound too harsh, just giving back honest feedback and i would love to get the same!

been working on this on and off for the past few weeks, cant really get the time to sit down and really bust it out.
either way im pretty happy with the way its starting to sound. i could use some second opinions tho

@Kikaruu: Drumworks nice but that kick is feels out of place, the bite on the tail end just seems really off and I couldn't help but think a more low cut subby option would be more fitting.

@ponte_ricky: Nice composition, drum work again is nice, my only thing would be that it doesn't vary a great deal, try to mix things or with both an additive or subtractive method perhaps.

@budsteq: Nice work, very reminiscent of the early sound. Personally I bring that snare back to a crisp level, or replace the sample completely, sometimes a nice crisp sound amongst a sea of dark-low cuts works better and brings clarity.

Heres something I started work on a couple hours ago, I'm trying my hand at more chilled vibes for a change.

Astral: The sample reminds me of some oldschool hiphop beat, can't name it but brings me same kind of vibes :D
Very original and sounds good. Got nothing bad to say about it.

Spraaypaint: Nice ideas, like the actual sound of the bassline very much reminds me of jakes.
You just gotta fatten it quite a bit. You gotta bring the drums up quite a bit, punching low hitting kicks would fit.

Kikaruu: Nice intro, very nice drum work and love the sub, big track!

So here's my new wip, it got to a point where I gotta listen it trough itunes cos fl starts to sound very distorted.

@ glue reed

cant help but feel the wub needs another layer in there, possibly with reverb to add a little more dimention to the highs, i just feel that with the bass you chose it could be a little bit wider, possibly a nice ambiant pad spread out/ panning wide acrosee the stereo field would be cool? nice thou man i like it. :4:

@ kikaruu

sweet track but i think the kicks too heavy, perhaps a low pass on the kick would be good? imo it needs a deep sounding kick. the pad sounds lush thou love it. perhaps you could add another kick in there to chop and change between the two, as there are quite a lot of kicks in there and it sounds like youve used the same kick every time, just needs a little variation on it imo. but overall id be happy with it, just a few minor tweaks here n there :W:

@sprayyypaint

very nice man! im not too fond of that high pitch note in there tho, mayb replace it with another sound @ the same pitch/ modulate it a bit?

love the wobble pattern but the bass isnt angry enugh, imo it needs a little more saturation/distortin/processing split frequences would solve that. ;-)

heres a track i made today.. just looking for a bit of feedback..

@ponte_ricky
Nice chords @ 1:20ish, it's a cool sound. I'd say they shouldn't cut out when they do, the track feels really a.d.d. and they'd help keep it focused. Otherwise, sweet atmosphere, sweet beat, sweet sounds.
