circadian rhythms. IIRC, you're more often in REM sleep at about 9 am than at like 4 am, and your body is wondering why the fuck it's not getting its delicious REM.

Just about to go to bed and then I remembered one of my dreams last night

It went on for about a week in dream time as in I went to bed and got up a bunch of times with what seemed like full days in between.

Jeez. That reminds me of something I read before along the lines of: What if you lived out your life, day to day, working, paying the bills, getting a girlfriend, being nice to people, etc. Then you went to sleep one night but as you wake up you realise you're sitting in a room, yourself as you 'were' when you were a teenager, with your friends holding a pipe with salvia in and someone saying "dude, how was your trip?".
