How To Make A Rusko Like Bassline

Post by Nizmo » Sat Apr 16, 2011 12:33 pm

Hi All, following on from my Skrillex bassline thread and the feedback it got, thought i would spend some time doing a Rusko type bassline. Hope this can help some new producers out.

Really? Nothing at all? You should pay more attention to things. I don't make music anything like this at all but I when I watched it first time around I learned lots from this.

Really. I was really disappointed, because i learned tons from the Reso masterclass. But Rusko, yeah, al he did i knew already, but in his hands it seemed to become miraculously awesome, without him doing anything too crazy...

i think datsik said it right in the recent interview - these sounds are just annoying in not done properly. and this 'tutorial' is no different, the end product is a shitty annoying sound!

the funny thing is they're selling 'pro patches'

This.

And rusko's masterclass was one of the better ones I've seen. Only three others I thought were any good. Alix Perez, Sabre & Reso.
Worst one I've seen is from Mistabishi, I love the guy, but he seriously made the most pointless video imo -_-
Do you say zerbaman? Or do you say zebraman?

funtcase was pretty good imo too. he goes into pretty good detail about his drums and eqing his drums then into the bass line as well.

ruskos masterclass was good for just overall general tips and stuff for producing dubstep.

and i liked reso's for explaining his puzzle of a bassline etc..

I'm not a fan of funtcase so I didn't even bother. But I may check it out.
True on both counts. I never realized the importance of the drumline till I saw rusko's, and reso's educated me on some brostep bass distortion methods, hope to get rolling out some filth in the near future

ah was going to post this but you beat me too it. this should hopefully stop a few future rusko threads. i found the video useful since I am just learning how to use albino and a little more on structuring.
