Post-disco-future-funk

Post by blue_lu » Tue Apr 12, 2011 4:31 pm

Hi, first post here! Just discovered this forum and noticed some people whos work I admire post here (soosh!) - also it looks like it has a nice and chill vibe going so that is a plus!

I am more of a funk guy and came to electronic music via flying lotus' reset ep. right now Onra - long distance and siriusmo - mosaik are my faves. studio is basicly my laptop and some outboard - sp303, oto biscuit and lately, the mighty op-1 from teenage engineering.
also a rhodes and a kawaii240sx (love that keyboard!).

here's some of my stuff:

Soundcloud

and some op-1 exclusive beats:

and some uptempo disco 4 on the floor thing:

Soundcloud

let me know what you guys think - I know I need to work on the tracks being longer, but my attention span is so short... :cornlol:

these are so sick man- I don't mind them being short its like a snapshot of an idea or something- reckon you should do like an album with about 25 of these in, would be a brilliant concept

hutyluty, thanks for taking a listen. I still have troubles to get anything done that is +3 mins. :D

the 25 track album would be a cool idea, but I would really like to expand the tracks, but still keep them interesting (to me at least). so repeating is not really an option, more like morphing one part in another.

hey man, yeah ive been using maschine for just over a year. i use it in abelton live as i still like mixing down in a daw, and i use a lot of hardware synths which is easier to record into a daw. maschine is awesome though, basically my sketchpad and then i drag and drop audio parts in abelton. midi is weird in abelton and i cant be arsed with all the routing you need to do. oh yeah and i like to sidechain a few things which maschine cant do just now. ill need to check the op-1, looks nice. i just got a roland gaia synth which is tasty.

just had a listen to your track-dope! its got a young motana kind of vibe...percs are nice half way through!
