Vintage/Analog warmth for logic

Came across a cool tip today for getting that analog warmth in logic without having to go out and buy a third party plug-in. Turns out the TAPE delay is named as such for a reason. If you turn off sync, turn the delay time down to 0ms, bring down the feedback, and mix wet/dry signals to your liking you can get some pretty nice sounding results. You can also use the filter and change other parameters to taste!

I'm sure you can get better sounding results out of the third party plugs (PSP vintage warmer, etc.), but I went ahead and slapped this on the master out of one of my tunes and it sounded pretty darn good to me...really helped fill out an otherwise empty sounding mix.

wouldn't use it on the master, but the tape drive isn't too far off that of the massey tapehead plug-- which i love on drums.

Lot of analog colorant/saturation emulations are available as VSTs, he already mentioned VintageWarmer for one. There's also the UAD plugins which give really good results for software!

I tried doing this a couple of times but everytime I re-opened the project file the delay time changed to a non-zero value I think, pain the arse.

good tip, i've slept on the tape delay and have only used it if i wanted classic dub delay

yeah but i meant something exactly or very similar to reason's tape delay as a vst or something because i would like to try this out

Add a bit of averb and stereodelay and your break downs are ridiculously good
