I have a laptop and will soon have a pair of krk rokits, but I'm not really sure about how to connect it all together.
Do i use a soundcard? Which connections and leads wwould I need? I can see on the back of to krks thats there is a 'balanced' connection and an 'unbalanced' one. I should be aiming to use the balanced one, right?
I've done a quick search but I can't really find anything. Hardware baffles me.

Re: Connecting monitors
A soundcard as you call it (or an audio interface) is definitely recommended. Since you're using a laptop I think an audio interface with USB connection would be a good idea. Maybe check out the M-Audio Fast Track Pro. It's not too expensive and probably good enough. There's a thread about soundcards in the production bible on this forum too.
Don't know about balanced/unbalanced...
Good luck!

Re: Connecting monitors
Thanks for the info guys, really helpful.
The fast track pro looks like a good job, might get that. Looks like a quality piece of kit.
