Most Practical Production Software

I've been messing around with dubstep in FL Studio and really want to get more in to production. I already have a nice comp, a fairly nice MIDI, good headphones and soundcard and all that. Obviously there isn't one best program out there but I was wondering if anyone feels strongly about what program to start out on? What is simple/easy to follow and gets a good sound or has many tutorials on how to get a good sound? Obviously it won't be extremely easy but I'm willing to put in effort and time to get started as an amateur producer.

all are the same...if youve already started in FL, stick with it. tbh the only difference between daw's is the look of it so choose a pretty one (ahem FL STUDIO) and stick with it

cubase - i dont like the surgical interface and its a bit more complicated than it should be...

FL - really hard to keep the things as easy as possible and the meters and mixing tools are not awesome...its a bit woody and you cant work with wavs like you should...after more than 2 years on it i've decided that :

Live is sup simple and intuitive - the interface is cool, the built-in tools are awesome, the wav's work is great as the stretchin and pitchshiftin...the session and arrangement views are really handy and the shortcuts on the keyboard are easy-to-remember...and so on...

Reason - vst free

Logic looks nice you lucky mac users

i forgot - in Live you could undo almost every parameter and even your PC shuts down it keeps these...

but all in all drokkr is right

to be fair, there is a sonic difference between all the DAWs- Logic and Reason are "softer", ableton and renoise have a much "crisper" sound, fruity loops sits somewhere in the middle. none of them are "better" than the other though

and the way all the different ones are set up are easier/harder depending on how you brain works

but they're all good so you might as well just go with wateva~
