people people please calm down!
we can all be friends here.

Mr. Shrooms over here gots ta realize that no matter what he may think, he is no better than anyone else. He needs to stop acting like it.
and also Kes-es was backing you up in what you were saying except he was withdrawing from it because you were exaggerating the facts.

Massive is over-used and used for the wrong reason by a good amount of the dubstep community which does not make it a bad synth and does not make a producer "sh*tty" just because he/she uses it. We can all agree in the fact that we don't like massive, but some people do and they are amazing producers. Take datsik for example, and excision. Excision uses massive some of the time while datsik uses it ALL of the time...and they are definitely NOT "sh*tty" producers

CAN I HAZ MASSIV PRESET FROM UR HARDWEAR SINTHISSIZER?!?!?!

No im kidding.

I respect the original intent of this thread was to help people out, so on the desire to bring this thread back to how it's supposed to be, I think those are cool sounds you made and also that resampling should be used more widely and more wisely than it is in the dubstep community

DUde, i was diggin ur "technique" for sure.

I really loved how u chopped up different samples and used them as ur basis for the dubstep beat. As far as hardware or software i think we can all achieve a similar goal no matter what were workin with and thank you kindly for the knowledge u dropped and skills we can all us to grow from that u showed us u clearly have.

That being said, who really says midi isnt fun, u? I happen to think bangin out a track like i do is VERY stimulating. And furthermore, u may call what u did here resampling, but its really not the resampling that anyone is expecting to hear about. The beauty of the English language and its many misinterpretations eh? :h:

I'm gonna do a resampling video of myself walking through a grocery store and sampling the same bit of snack food the attendant offers me over and over and post it on the DSF :cornlol:

fucking A, Mushroom man, can i call you Mario?

I enjoy ur technique, but to say ur the only real artist around cuz u push buttons on a box and i push buttons on a mouse is arrogant to say the least, not to mention pompous and ignorant. Please brother, load up some of ur amazing tunes so we can either be in awe of ur incredible talent, or shred you with our soul-less midi masterpieces.

Its quite obvious Thy Holy Mushroom over here has a pre-ordained incentive to stir up crap under the feeble guise of his pseudo 'belief' in what he's talking about. So in all honesty trying to enter into any kind of debate with him is literally pointless. Devil's advocate, anyone?

The big thing that stuck out for me in a really funny way is he is from America, now being someone born and bread in the UK and having experienced first hand the birth of UK Grime and Dubstep WAY before it got out to any kind of mainstream audience. It seriously makes me giggle that here is some middle aged American phuquit trying to imbibe his unearthly wisdom on all 'us kids' on how it was done "back in't day like" and how we should listen to the old folks that have been at it for years... really? With such a relatively new music genre as this? having started in the UK? coming from an American?

Shoot me now. Please.

I know i haven't explained that as well as i could have but i hope you understand the underlying utter fallacy i'm pointing at.

Anyway. IMHO, 'resampling' is lazy, especially the kind of resampling on all those DNAE beats videos. Cutting up other peoples works and rearranging it in a rhythmically pleasing fashion is the equivalent of rearranging the furniture in someones living room and calling yourself an architect/engineer.

The whole idea of 'synthesis' is creating the sound from the ground up, which is by definition directly opposed to the concept of 'sampling' which requires an established data format created separately from the sampling process. So with synthesis actually drawing in the envelope/filter freq automation to me seems more 'purist' (yup, pur'i'st.. not pur'e'st Mr Shroom, If you're going to label yourself, at least create the impression you believe in it enough to spell the dam concept right) than sampling.

meh. I'm not one to argue but sometimes people just seriously lack a basic underlying understanding of human decency and etiquette. The ego is a strange and complex thing, it seems.
