Your views on buying tracks please...
With the tragic loss of so many record shops I’ve been pondering about the way things are going regarding buying music. So I was wondering what you all think about buying tunes nowadays.
Also, if you could see one thing in an online music shop what would this feature be? Examples might include cheap track prices, easy site navigation, etc.

i can't afford vinyl anymore, beatport is a sick site, but increasingly they are charging more than other websites; i think this is why quite often new releases on beatport seem to be few and fair between these days.
boomkat is sick, been rebranded recently and looks sick, plus they do deals on multiple tracks.

I think that in short vinyl IS effectively being ousted by digital formats because of their ease of use and obviously how much cheaper they are, although for me there is still no digital format that beats the sound and feel of vinyl mixing. If I start to earn more money in the future and get more time on my hands then I will definately go back to mixing vinyl but I fear that it will literally be a thing of the past quite soon considering the rate at which clubs are adopting more digital styles of mixing.

Vinyl.
To be fair though, there are already a million other threads on this.

...yeah I know, but I also wanted to get an up to date viewpoint on things as so much change is occuring, and with things like Distance saying he uses CD's playing out now cos most clubs have whack sets of technics I just wondered what other people thought.

like to buy vinyl with a download code ideally
Re: Your views on buying tracks please...
I'd buy vinyl if clubs maintained their decks; so I could actually use them. But for now, digital.

Poorly disguised marketing thread is poorly disguised.

Just because you are a character, does not mean you have character.

i understand that its increasingly difficult for dj's to play vinyl out but theres just something about having a record that makes it seem so much more worthwhile. I mean does a wav or mp3 have artwork? At least with a record you have something to look at and something thats in a physical form rather than a file on a hard drive. Thats my opinion anyway!
