iv used the ham vst before and its dope. too bad i use reason :/. its so simple yet gives such an amazing sound and you really can do anything with it. its so warm, and i find the filters to be fantastic. the smoked bacon preset is sick for brostep too..

Ham is a bit old skool though, if you want the more modern skrillex sound you will need to get Alpaca sample packs, and Alpaca VST.
Don't start the whole Ham VS Alpaca debate again :u:

Ham and alpaca are made up, they are jokes that are over used to the point of making anyone look like an ass who says it. It's a joke kept alive by people who are insecure with their tunes and talent.

On that note, pile up a snare, white noise, and highpassed kick drum. Layer them so they start at SLIGHTLY different times - then compress with a high knee. Play around with this premise.

i'm not angry. i'm actually a huge fan of humor - it's my favorite thing in the world. but over-used jokes that were never funny, it's just lame. everyone here is so concerned with the crowd, and not associating with lame brostep and the children that like it - but then everyone uses the same jokes and the same cliche response over and over. it clogs this board up more than the 'OMG how do i sound like skrillecks and datsik' topics do. at least those discuss production.

i did find it odd how a thread about achieving a snare turned into jokesters prescribing Ham for warm synths. It would make a little more sense if the OP had anything to do with synths

Man STFU look when you joined this forum, they are not a joke, they are the only thing holding this broken community together.

I was on DSF before, even I was on DSF I am that fucking cool.

With that a side, what makes you think there is only one reason people post Alpaca's, and HAM? Is it because your narrow minded?

let's reverse that. do you think that people post similar topics all for the same reasons and that you must reply with HAM and alpaca, because that's how dsf works. isn't that narrow minded?

anyways, i was just saying that joke is just not funny. don't take it personally.
