Re: How i fell in love with Dubstep.
them first few dubstep nights were actually epic. the vibes were so different, no aggyness or dickhead posers, just ppl enjoying the bass and bringing positive vibes. was a bit surreal the first few times.Ted-E wrote:yea i was listening to alot of grime back then, then what i quite liked was alot of grime artist were using dubstep and it just seems to work so well together! can't forget request line, i remember the first time i heard that aswell, was really high and was browsing youtube (as you do) and i instantly became a fan of skream! what was it about dubstep that actually made you guys love it then? me it was just how different it was from everything else, it seemed to fill that gap in music, the bass the space and heavy snares, so i was loving it on my subwoofer then i went to a night... that was in bristol i can't remember what the night was called but it was basically packed and it was full of heads just feelin the bassweight and havin a good time! can't wait to go to a dubstep night againhaven't been in about a year an half cause we got none in mauritius
that was then, dunno if i can say the same for now tho.

D1 - Dubstep Warz. As soon as I heard it played as the intro to the MAH - breezeblock dubstep warz mix I was hooked.
I remember playing that mix to some mates and they all laughed and said "boooooooring". now they're all "dubstep... I like that band. have you heard skrilexx yoyoyo, he's a dubstep"

Re: How i fell in love with Dubstep.
Stumbled on Skream's "Lightning" (still one of my faves) randomly on pandora. I was like "wow that's fuckin neat" but didn't look much further. Then I heard "When I look at you" at a bassnectar show, instantly fell in love. Went home, played it probably 10 times, then stayed up for 2 days looking up filthy dubstep (yeah...). Came across pinch shortly after and that's when shit really started.
Re: How i fell in love with Dubstep.
first track i heard was goth-trad - genesis. couldn't get enough his stuff at the time - then the researching started. still one of my favourite producers.
Re: How i fell in love with Dubstep.
Shit really got started with Distance, after Headstrung, I was addicted

Re: How i fell in love with Dubstep.
i fell in love with dubstep when i went to a party and i didn't know what i needed the expect. headhunter, ramadanman, gatekeeper, ben ufo, ... went to belgium for the first time in a small village near brussels where i live, they made me dig for more dubstep.
It's about dropping a track at the wrong speed, and it sounding better than the real thing.
Re: How i fell in love with Dubstep.
hahaha i'm going to be honest my first track was "Bread get Bun", and we all remember that one!
A friend showed me Skream - Superfly this had an impact too.
Coki - Goblin, was the one though! Absolute killer! (Still rate it better than Spongebob, Lucifer etc)
Burning was another that changed things.
Let's all be honest here though, we liked the music when we heard it etc but it wasn't until one night you went out indulged in MDMA or some form that you realised you love the music! From then on never really looked back!

First tune: Kode 9 - Kingstown (dub), that shifty beat...
then a mindblowing set by Skream @ Salon des Amateurs/Duesseldorf in Sept 2006, and from then on Youngsta's show on Rinse.

randomly stumbled upon an old Pinch mix from 2006, thought nothing of it at first, got into mid-range and then found Pinch again - this release.

nah mate its the bass and the music itself in the rave, the substance aint a neccessity to realise what the music is about by any means.Stuuka wrote:hahaha i'm going to be honest my first track was "Bread get Bun", and we all remember that one!
