That beat/tune/insider's joke is pants.
I'm gonna upload Pyro's workout one of these days (yes Luke, that Pyro). Talk about taking things forward...
This topic is really annoying :?

Play a whole set of breakstep and it will miss the true force of dubstep.

Mix it all up and add some grime-rithms and you'll have a fuckin' great thing!!!

But I agree, that this variation seems to be getting scarser then it was a good year, a year-and-a-half ago.

Oh but you do have a problem...Nobody's gonna want to buy or play your tunes now, even if they were the most futuristic shit around. I suggest you get a new name

dubmugga, it doesnt matter how good your beat may be, I would never listen to anything by a person with an attitude like yours. I think many others here would agree.

^^^thats bullshit...

...it's all about the tunes not the people who make them and when all is said and done no ones gonna remember what I said on the net but the tunes will last forever

see i don't give a shit about the money or who's playing em...

...so basically anyone with a petty personal bias against me that affects their ability to like a good tune made by us has the problem

i can take it or leave it...

might i repeat my suggestion for you now and can you pass it on to luke as well ???

i never said your beat wasnt interesting. you have a serious attitude problem. you're so egotistical it's ridiculous. if you ever get the chance to put your stuff out, you should probably use a different name than dubmugga, since a lot of people don't like dubmugga already. the person you are does have an effect on whether people will like you or not. i can get into some hip-hop or grime, but i don't like the attitudes of people in those scenes. so i dont really get involved with those scenes. i believe there are others that feel the same way.

I prefer the half step stuff to the breaky noisy stuff personally.

It offers another dimension sonically to DJ sets, I think it is always great when you can pull off dropping a half step track after playing something really up tempo.

It's an integral part of both grime and dubstep and being a DJ who spins both in the same set, the halfstep dubby stuff really works well with grime.

on the one hand you say you would never listen to our stuff then you say the beat is interesting which means you had to have listened to it, so that makes you what ???

secondly you and i and everybody on this forum are interacting with words on a screen at face value...

...truth is you have no idea who or what the person behind the pseudonym is like and what their attitude is unless you know them personally, in which case why bother posting stupid messages to them anyway if you can chat with them over a beer after work ???

and like i said my attitude on the net is your problem cos you're the one that has to deal with it...

...in real life i have people trust me with their lives in my work and the confidence in my abilities comes from that and other things i do not from talking shit on the net

BTW i'm still waiting for a new half step beat that is anything like ours...

...lastly i've never been much in agreeing with people for the sake of it or in caring what people who do that think or in doing things just so people can like me...

...let me break it down one last time

We are audio terrorists creating mutant strains of a musical virus from the decomposing remains of previous strains and infecting the net with it. We are not hosts, we don't have a myspace or website, we are not carriers, we don't have a radio show or regular gigs...

We are high grade producers tucked away in lab creating fiendishly good tunes in our own inimitable style and promoting personal propaganda to highlight what we do

...it's not about the money or the fame, it's about the philosophy

welcome to the social experiment that is the Hell Science Dept guinea pigs...

without us this place would be a far less interesting place

i listened to it cuz it was important to the discussion. i dont think i will listen to your music on a regular basis in the future.

maybe so, but at the very least, this gives me an idea of the kind of person you are. i dont see why it being text on the internet makes it less valueable.

btw, who is this "we/us" you keep refering to?

and i think luke is right, it seems you want nothing more than to pick a fight.

Innit, he must place some importance on the net, seeing as he goes out of the way to constantly point out that dubstep is the worlds first "internet-based" genre.

He really does tho ...

... its funny tho cos yr opinian dont mean squat cos ya nah buy records ... and your not gonna release any either, and what makes you think compressed audio files floating around the www are any more worthwhile than words on a screen ... I know your not as big a wanker as you seem so why make it hard for yrself ?

yeah right like listening to eminem talk about slim shady gives you an idea who marshall mathers is but try busting up on him in real life and start talking about his daughter like you know her or him and see how much of an idea you have...

...text on the internet is less valuable cos hardly anybody uses their real names, offers up any real information about themselves, you can't look someone in the eye and gauge if they're lying, it's not written in stone and people are subject to change their opinions

don't believe the type...

...yes, the net has unlimited value for promotion and distribution outside of a geographical centre but if people want to close it up around an outdated form of recordings, marketing and business structure within a certain clique then there's fuck all i can do about that except to promote our music to a wider audience

...we/us is the dept of hell science, ie my musical partner Jared and i

picking a fight ??? trying to incite animated discussion beyond banal comments more like...
luke.envoy wrote:and yes we've ''heard anything like it''

u really think its up there with mud, and that its like nothing else?
ur on a joketing mate
...nothing is clear with me luke and i can't say as i've heard mud. You joked about our beat said you heard heaps like it but when challenged to put up or offer comment on new directions just avoided the subject. I'm not interested in your precious bits you're too scared to share with people cos of the money you'll lose out on when they finally get released but i wouldn't go getting a mortgage or a lamborghini just yet

I'm interested in the bits you've heard that are like the beat i posted up...

...so once again lets hear em

oh no doomy,no names mentioned...

...i'm sure if you listen to enough, you too can hear the basic halfstep BEAT getting rinsed by a few producers both new and old

i don't know what you think dubstep is but i'm pretty sure you can equate wishy washy idm noodling and muzak to most forms of electronica...

...is it just perfectly disposable pop music that'll be around as long as it's encoded into bits and floating in cyberspace or is it drugged up spiritual music for the mystically inclined digirati ???

I don't see what buying records has to do with having an opinion on them or the value of said opinion. It doesn't worry me what you think of what I think only what i think and i'm not going to lose any sleep over it...

...life is what i do off line. While some people are too busy planning theirs and getting coached I'm living mine and i'm grateful for where i'm living it, who i'm living it with and how i'm living it

but back on subject. I think too many people try to make outstanding stand alone tunes when the context for dubstep was always going to be how it sits in the mix...

...in which case I want to hear more step less dub, different broad strokes for folks with broader horizons
