I spoke to a tester at A&H about the DB4, wasn't told anything specific, just that it is still a bit rough around the edges. I think "ropey" was the term used, which doesn't exactly fill me with confidence!
When is it being released? Hopefully they've got a good company working on the software (they don't do it in-house) and it'll be non-ropey when they put it on sale.

Digital mixers = sketchy concept to me but I wouldn't mind having a play with it.

it's already out! loads of people have been swapping their djm2000s for it and been saying it's some next mixer... just issues with timecode apparently (built in soundcard)

I've played on both a DB4 and a DJM 2000. As an owner of both a A&H and a Pioneer I don't have a dog in the fight. Honestly the DJM2000 is much easier to use and if you're buying either of these you're looking for functionality, as quality is a given at this point in the market. Comparing the two, the DJM2000 was better for me

It has such a clean signal path (no eq's or filters ) plus some of the best components on the market ( alps blue velvet pots) it can't help but sound a whole lot better than an A&H ( not sure I'd be able to hear the difference though)

^ ah right, all I saw on the website was the schematics. I couldn't find the kit. Building it from a circuit diagram and sourcing your own components would = massively variable quality.

Big you up getting round to doing it though. I've been planning on building a custom mixer for about a year now but still can't decide exactly what I want, and I can't figure out how to design a crossfader with a variable curve on it. It's pissing me off.
