so amid this explosion of online pirate stations poppin up here and there round the interwebs, we at rwd.fm try and find ways to make things interesting and not get lost in the sea of oblivion and spam. after remembering one day "oh yea, life's just a big video game" it clicked and I realized what the pirate radio station world was missing, and that's the competitive edge, the way of sorting the shite from the gold cause all you have to do is look at the win/loss columns and you get an idea, BUT IT'S ALL IN GOOD FUN OK??

it'd be like this except with turntables
So I hit up a bunch of other pirate stations, some no response sadly boooooooooriiiiiing*, but fortunately enough people saw the historical potential for fun so we've got our first battles in the works. As of now battles work like so: 4 rounds of 30 minute sets, DJ A makes a 30 minute prerecorded set sends it to DJ B who responds with their own 30 mins, gets sent back to A rinse repeat we end up with a 2 hour show hosted by my dude MC Werd2Jah. The styles are open ended, taking influence from both turntable battle style as well as 60s jamaican soundsystem battle, whatever, and of course each set is full of jabs at the opponent and their respective radio station, remixing opponent's songs, it is all fair and game.
So aside from searching for more stations to man up and battle with us and each other, the other very important feature I'm searching DSF for today is some non-biased big names who want to take the prestige and honor of being battle judges. Now I know ppl these days are all "wah wahhh DSF is dead skrillex killed it whatever" and this may be true, but I'm really hoping some big names still read this and realize the potential for power here and would want to be one of the 4 almighty battle judges. Qualifications are being a badass and respected DJ who can listen to shows and determine who the better DJ is. Please hit me up if this interests you or post below to help build up the hype.
Big things acoming, don't miss out.
*ps. whistla that's me calling you and sub.fm out
