meh... a lot of kids smoke buds. I started around your age... i seem ok so far (will keep ya updated! xD)
BUT... if you're pulling 95's in all your classes, and smoking reefer, you could probably be pulling 100's
my only bit of advice, speaking purely from MY OWN experience -- don't fail gym. It only means you have to waste your time re-taking it until you pass in order to graduate. and you DO wanna graduate.

your drums were good. get working on some deep pads and bring some atmosphere to your music

I don't really think bud has really affected my grades in school I don't go to school high or anything and my grades were always in the same range. Oh yeah, I'm not failing gym, I have like an 88 , it's just that it's not as high as the others.

interesting OP...

what your asking is a very very broad question. in fact, it really incorporates about half of the discussion in this forum. so i'd say your already started. look at the dubstep bible, and examine all of the articles in there, especially legend4ry's subbass tutorial. very helpful imo, and for deeper tracks a solid sub (or bass, whatever you refer to it as) line can really provide the fullness and context for the rest of the elements (drums, percussion, whatever).

trying listening to some old dub, like king tubby, then listening to the "deeper" more dubby dubstep and you'll see the inspiration. doing that helped me understand the feel and the rhythms that make this style of dubstep so goddam interesting.

in terms of samples, i would try doing a search in the dsf google bar for "dub samples" and stuff like that. there are more than you could shake a dog at out there on the internetz. also, check "the grid" forum on dogsonacid.com. you might find some more useful sample packs. good luck to ya kid. sorry if this was only mildly helpful.

The dubstep scene over here in the US is growing. It's kinda tough to go up against those metal heads or those hardcore hip hop kids *swag swag swag*. I feel hand picked and saved from Americas shitty genres like Alternative Rock and gay emo scremo cut music. Don't even get me fucking started on brokencyde. If I ever bring up dubstep I get kids saying shit like Skrillex and Deadmau5. Makes me rage everytime. every god damn time...

I don't know how clued up you are on such things but the US has a long and extremely fruitful history of producing electronic dance music (among other things) that continues to influence artists in the UK/Europe to this day. Certainly worthy of investigation if this all new to you.

Lol I listen to deathcore, too, but it's not emo. Brokencyde is HORRIBLE. I also listen to hip hop but NOT lil wayne or soulja boy etc. I listen to Aesop Rock and Immortal Technique etc. Any of you listen to Japanese hip hop like Nujabes, Blazo, Kondor? Also, Deadmau5 isn't dubstep, but I feel ya because I don't think I know ANYONE that listens to artists like Loefah, Kode9 etc.

I'm not saying there isn't an abundant history of good US electronic music. I just personally think the dubstep scene in the UK is "better", for a lack of better words.
