Re: Louis Theroux
absolutely love louis, i think i've watched just about everything he's ever done
Re: Louis Theroux
just about to watch the one in miami but i really like his stuff, a friend and i made the mistake of watching the 2nd part to the phelps family show he did on ket, which i can appreciate wouldn't produce as an intense an experience as say LSD or something but i think the fact that we were only able to concentrate on snippets pf the show then spend the rest of the trip mulling over the idea that we were going to burn in hell to altered versions of Lady Gaga tunes made for a rather confusing and somewhat scary evening

admire it... nah
Re: Louis Theroux
What are you saying Noam? That he is utterly beyond admiration or that you yourself are much more honest and so admiration in this case is null and void? Or are you just saying I picked the wrong word?

kind of all of the above except the wholier than thou optioncityzen wrote:What are you saying Noam? That he is utterly beyond admiration or that you yourself are much more honest and so admiration in this case is null and void? Or are you just saying I picked the wrong word?
I suppose I'd say I find it difficult to admire honesty about the way a guy abuses his power over others, though i respect that he's honest about it, I cant say I admire him for it
but its not like I didn't have to think about it, it's not clear cut... its like I have to fight off feelings of admiration because i know he's an absolute scummer
the two words seem to have a lot of overlap, to the point Im not sure which is the stronger condemnation, a lack of admiration or respect?

Re: Louis Theroux
OK, I see what you mean.
I just failed completely to attach the feelings of admiration or respect to the guy, but instead attach those words to the honesty itself. Perhaps that is impossible.
What he is saying is some straight up scumbag shit, but I like the idea that you know exactly where you stand with him - no second guessing is needed.
I'd prefere to be robbed at gunpoint than be tricked out of my money.... The former just seems so much more honest.
Is that crazy?

So much respect for him, incredible journalist. Very likeable too, and to top it off, he is one ballsy motherfucker
Going against the wardens advise to enter the high security cell was brave. If the wardens wouldnt do it then he should haha. He is a brave MF, The chat he has with that guy aswell is quite a good discussion about how the place is run and louis doesnt seem to ever mince his words. Amazing ability to not antagonise crazy people when asking them direct questions about contraversial things. Cant wait for Pt.2

Looking forward to the second part of Miami Mega Jail tonight. The first part was pretty good.
I wouldn't want to do half the stuff he does. Brave bloke.
