how to make this sound in "who run it"?
the sound that first appears at 0:29, on the second snare in the drop, kinda sounds like ey-ey-ey-ey-ey-ey
I think it has something to do with ring modulation (or maybe bitcrushing?)
any suggestions?

I think you can achieve that with some vowel (ie) format filteringthefrim wrote:

Re: Help Me Make That Sound - 2011.
This is a bit of an embarrassing post for me considering the amount of times I've told people "bass is bass, just put a sine wave or two in" which is generally true if your after wall shaking sub but now I'm going for a different sound I'm realising I have no idea how to make any other kind of bass :s
Right, now to the point, I'm trying to get my bassline to sound like this;
It just sits perfectly, it's airy, not too heavy and so rich. I've been fiddling with lowpass filters and sine waves for ages now and can't seem to get it right. Feel like it's two layers, one is the standard sub sine wave but I can't get anything to fit over the top so seamlessly. If I layer it with another sine an octave above it's making it too rumbley and chaotic.
HELP!

Easy put a power cable into your gameboy, or just touch the end of a cable.dj stick wrote:anyone knows how to make the sound that comes in at 11 seconds? and i mean how to make it instead of sampling.
thanks in advance.
What are you using for saturation? have you tried a waveshaper?paravrais wrote:That's not doing it for me man :\3za wrote:Sine wave + soft saturation = WINNINGparavrais wrote:HELP!

Zeds Dead-like bass?
Heya fellas, I've been learning dubstep for quite a while and been lurking in these forums for even longer, but I had to ask a question: how to achieve low-mid range smooth, melodic basslines like Bassnectar and Bare Noize (my two favourite artists at the moment). I always wanted to shy away from the over processed basslines of brostep and move onto cleaner dubstep.
If you're not aware of who Zeds Dead are:
I have no clue how to match their basslines. They're fantastic to me. Any idea on what synths, daw or techniques they use? Appreciate it fellas (:

Help me make the Zeds Dead sound!
01:00 - 1:50 = almost sounds like a House bassline.
0:59 - 1:22
Just overall that low, gritty basslines. Love it.
Seen here too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifGZf6rSETQ
Thank you!

Re: Zeds Dead-like bass?
i think you stated your answer in your first post...its all about the melody of the bass lines. just follow some youtube vids if you cant get a sound you like, then tweak it a bit to your liking...
Re: Help Me Make That Sound - 2011.
this thread is going to waste too. everybody is posting questions and hardly any answers
@Mear Bace ... sounds to me like a recording of paper on top of the porthole of a subwoofer while playing subbass and then hi-pass the recording

How do you make this sound?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyMkKdXoukw
It's that certain bass sound in the bassline that sounds kind of like it's being pitched up I can't point it out exactly but its throughout

Re: How do you make this sound?
you make it by tweaking a number of parameters and automating other certain parameters.
ORRRRRRR you post it in the "how to make this sound thread" to learn how and which parameters to tweak and automate
ding ding ding. we have a winner

Re: Help Me Make That Sound - 2011.
Okay, this is probably an idiotic question and after this I will probably do an epic facepalm at how ridiculously easy it was.
However, I've noticed in many of Skream's newer tracks, most prominently in his remix of In for a Kill (not a new one lol) you hear a grimy, earth-shaking sub-wobble.
Not only is it grimy and a sub but it's wobbling as well, I've constantly tried but they either end up too fat or too dirty - his basslines have been done perfectly as the vocals just fit perfectly over the top! I've tried googling it as "sub-bass" or "Skream sub-wobble" but no luck...
Can anyone help?
