Why should age be a factor in how you can/can't promote your music?

I'd prefer to make a name for myself by being out there, djing, actually doing shit. Deep dubstep just isn't striking the right chords with kids my age, and I'm not old enough to mingle with older crowds.
You probably have some advice on overcoming this? I hope?

I would just start befriending older heads that are into that deep stuff and go from there

Yeah that's my general angle, at least from the dnb days, but I don't really know many people full stop. Got some internet radio support and promo on youtube. But youtube isn't the kinda place for unknown deep stuff imo, too many ignorant people. Tryna get some support out there, but like I said, the times be peak

My advice would be - don't let it be an issue.

If you'd hadn't have told me, I wouldn't know nor care how old you were. At the end of the day, if you posted a tune I like, or a mix that I listened to and enjoyed, that's all that would matter. You could be 15 or 45 for all I care. Good music is good music.

That's what I'm saying, my trouble is finding methods of putting it out there.
If it was that I can't make decent tunes because of my age, I wouldn't want to be sending out to labels

Make it personal.

Find out where this label guy lives, and then wait for a nice sunny sunday afternoon, then go round their. Take a crate of beer, and a couple microwave Rustlers cheese burgers with you, so he is guaranteed to let you in. Once your in crack open a few beers, and get the Rustlers in the microwave. Have a chat in the garden, about football, and top gear. Now it's time to drop the, "can you listen to my demo?", you pass him the CD, and he says, "I will listen to it later" that no good to you he's just going to chuck that shit in the bin once you have left, after he's drink all your beer. So you ask him, "can't you listen to it now?" He says "ok" and you both go up to his studio to have sex listen to the CD. Now he's has finished listening to it, and you ask him what he thinks, he says" it's good" so you ask "would you like to sign it?" and he says "I think it needs more work, if you went away, and improved it then maybe...". Now this is when you pull out the shot gun you have hid in you trousers, and say "MUTHA FUKKAH WAT U SAY???", and SHOOT HIM!!!

When you shoot him you really want to try, and kill him... So that you become know as the guy who killed the guy that didn't sign his music, not as the guy who shot the guy that didn't sign his music. It will put more fear into people when they first meet you. Now you do the same all over again, but this time the guy says he loves your stuff, and will be the next release on the label...

These little personal touches can really go a long way.
