French scientists have confirmed with computer models that Gliese 581d, a planet orbiting a red dwarf star about 20 light years from here, has a stable atmosphere, comfortable temperatures, and a surface covered in liquid water. It's the first planet orbiting another star that could definitely support life, and it's basically next door.

A rocky world orbiting a nearby star has been confirmed as the first planet outside our solar system to meet key requirements for sustaining life, scientists said on Monday.
and fox news:
That makes 581g a prime candidate for liquid water and life as we know it — if the planet exists.

Cool. Possibly a bit optimistic though I'd say. It's not as though our climate modelling abilities are top notch.

actually, i dont, personally
also, people use oil because there is no better alternative, which is pretty inexcusable.

cannot put into words how happy i would be if we made proper contact with other life forms. Imagine watching the TV, moon landing style, and seeing all animals and stuff like on Pandora.

In Soviet Russia, the bass feels you.
