Re: Reaktor...
They like you more than me, didn't get that email... 800 page module reference. Some poor little German has been furiously typing the past year?
Re: Reaktor...
Don't you have Komplete? Reaktor (and Traktor) are the only software that I have from them. I'm sure they like you too.
Yeah, 800 pages is a fucking novel. That is a big manual.

Re: Reaktor...
I don't do reaktor, but I'm gettin in to synthmaker which is the same concept. I would like some info on that too haha cuz all I've accomplished is staring at the thing and wounding why it doesn't work lol
Re: Reaktor...
welll a lot of people use reaktor ensembles without actually making synths.. is it hte same with synthmaker?
there's just a load of dope thingsmade by reaktor users
according to their forum, massive started like that...

Re: Reaktor...
thats an interesting tidbit.. ur saying reaktor users basically developed the precursor to Massive?
I voted Yes, because i have it... i bought Komplete 7 last yr. I also didn't get that email for 64bit upgrade, will have to look for that.
Anyways i don't actually use it, i just wonder about it. instantiated it once, and it started making noise all on its own. I really didn't get it. Then i opened laser bass, because i'd heard it was good. It had some cool presets but they were too preset-ish, if that makes any sense... and i couldn't fucking wrap my head around the interface of laser bass.
I would love to read/hear/see what u lot are doing with it

Laser bass is a trip, I couldn't figure it out at first, then revisited it, and it makes prity good sense now. Massive is still an ensemble w/in reaktor, if I'm not mistaken.
Using reaktor more and more. It is not yet essential to my workflow, but it is getting pretty close.

Re: Reaktor...
Reaktor def takes some time to wrap your head around. I ended up build my own synth as stated earlier in this thread. It was a good experience, but it reaffirmed what I already knew, and that is I am a musician and not a programmer.
There are loads of good ensembles out there made by people that know what they are doing.

Re: Reaktor...
I use reaktor for chaos. Orderly systems, like music, need chaos.

Yeah - ive built a few fx-units but mainly I just use stuff from the NI User Base.. I know reaktor well enough to edit "some" of the back-end of esembles I want to change and i'm happy with that.

this new update is great. some really great building workflow improvements. the searchbox is a godsend.
Re: Reaktor...
i could def understand why!
didnt update yet, ahem.
here's a question for Ledge tho : how complex u think it is to actually learn how to code an fx plugin.. (im thinking a standalone version of massive's modulated filters)... altho maybe not as complex..

Re: Reaktor...
The complexity depends on the features included in the plugin and whether you code the modules used to develop the plugin or use the existing modules bundled with Reaktor.Ldizzy wrote:How complex you think it is to actually learn how to code an fx plugin.. If you're using the existing modules, then things are easier. You can then follow any schematic you find online or design yourself pretty quickly.
Best thing to do is open up an existing ensemble and study what is doing what, then try to approximate that in your own plugin.
You may find it useful to find yourself some reference information on how various effects actually work under the hood. The better your understanding of what's happening under the hood, the easier it becomes to identify which Reaktor components are needed to make your designs work.
http://www.rane.com/library.html#gpm1_1 has some useful articles on the innards of eqs (which are filters).
Also buy http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sound-FX-Unlock ... 0240520327 if you haven't already, explains alot in laymans language which is useful for those of us who ain't brainiacs!
Re: Reaktor...
Not the thread for it, but I couldn't tell you. I literally just unwrapped it, plugged it in, updated for 2 hours (hehe) did some tutorials. It really strikes me as a limited flstudio with many controls mapped to knobs or buttons. The very second thing I tried to do with a beat, record mutes, didn't work, they don't have that functionality. Pritty disappointed. Will say that this is easily the most powerful piece of hardware I've ever brought into my studioRandoRando wrote:how do you like maschine? how is it benefiting your workflow? im still trying to wrap my head around how a little box with pads and two litle screens could have complete control over any vstnowaysj wrote:Just dl'ed the 5.6 update, but I don't think I've run it yet.
