how did this thread go from a stupid joke youtube video with two whitebread ass kids to a thread about who's really gangster when it comes to grime?

there really have

and i doubt ed thinks hes grime producer, hes not making grime, its pop with grime vocalists. so yes that does make it more marketable to a mainstream audience, but it doesnt make it bad

Anyway, sorry I suppose that's a whole nother argument though, didn't mean to sidetrack from:

i have no issue with someone making beats but its when they affect a lack of affluence leading to them being a bit cheeky and street when well theyre posh and probably got to where they are by being connected and able to do music full time due to moneys mummy

No you are right. Wiley is the shit and honestly in UK Hip Hop the only mc I rate that much is Jehst.

The point I was trying to make was that this guy was saying I shouldn't only listen to hype grime. I then replied that that's the main thing that's entertaining for me in grime and I personally am going to lisen to hip hop (in general not so much the UK stuff in fact) for lyrical content.

He then said that P Money and Wiley have better lyircal content.

Which I didn't get as if you measure Wiley up to hip hop in general there are many better lyricists. That's not dissing Wiley. I was just saying that realisticly to claim Wiley is better than any hip hop is pushing it to say the least.

I said I'd rather listen to what Wiley/P money with real-life experiences, have to say on a real level than some failed economics student with no life experience like Jehst. He's a good rapper, but I write Palindromes and Sestinas, it has to be a special level of lyrical skill to impress me - it has to tell a story, you can't just be coming out with words that rhyme.

I know about half a dozen real street breddas that are as good as Jehst, and didn't have the opportunities he did, and actually have some life experience - stuff to talk about. Jehst doesn't talk about shit. Example to me is better, he's a national award winning poet, he nearly always tells a story, something I can relate to. Jehst is a very good rapper, but he never tells a story, never talks about anything real, just finds things that rhyme. If a truly great rapper like Lowkey does that, just thinks of things to rhyme instead of saying something meaningful, you get something spectacular like Alphabet Assassin, not just a couple nice metaphors.

Yeah that Juggaknots track is the one I liked best out of the three. I didn't say they were all shit, just when Ed Sheeran is playing, most grime MCs that usually just talk greeze and hype feel compelled to speak truth, and that to me is why it's one of the best things to come out of grime. That's why I'd prefer to listen to it than Jehst, not because Jehst isn't talented.

No life experiences? No life experiences?

You sure you know what you're on about mate? Coz the last time I looked, 'life experience' didn't solely consist of getting stabbed.

Are you 12?

Edit: He just said Example is better than Jehst...definitely 12.
I don't turn on Korn to get it on, I be playin Digi Mystikz 'til the dawn
