i think that MCs make the shows. it differentiates it from just a podcast or mix, it's going out live. getting shouts off twitter and phoneline numbers, i agree, gives a sense of loyalty and personal-ness.

+ who rates chunky as an MC?? at first on the boiler room i thought he was pretty irritating, "there's no i in boiler, oohhh" made me chuckle, but now i think he's a legend, he always makes me laugh on the swamp 81 rinse slot!

chunky's a beast of an mc!
last swamp81 show when the trusta song got pulled up: "wherever you are you gotta be giving the producer of this track a hand; if not, that's cool, too"

i also believe mc means master of ceremonies.

The Youngst's on with SP:MC tonight... legit for dnb excursions imo, the catastrophic flow of his rhymes is the perfect complement to the mix. Dubstep commentary is too sick also, always comes with the freshest and that keeps even older tunes sounding lively.

"takin' you into uncharted terrain, off the ordinance, classified coordinates"

one love to all the 'deep' dubstep MCs tho, you get me vibin' every time :4:

but id have to say the worst and most annoying MC has to be the one from Boiler Room. it sucks cause i cant hear ANY BR set past the point where he starts talking wild shit. its like he puts his lips directly on the mix and just starts rambling nonsense
are you referring to bpm? he's more of a host, i think he does a wicked job IMO.
i'd much rather listen to a set with an MC in general, particularly on radio- there's nothing better than listening to a rinse show when P-Money suddenly arrives at the studio and goes in :4:

I remember a while back on the old Dub Police show on Rinse. None of the DJs showed up to the studio so Rod Azlan got on the decks and dropped some tunes, it was wicked man. So gutted I lost that podcast.

It's this sort of interaction that I really enjoy. It makes me, and I bet everyone else, feel really welcome to the scene.

Who is that Boiler Room MC? He is so bad that I like him now. He has a weird speech impediment too. But at least he doesn't talk that often (in the sets I have), he only chimes in every 20 minutes or so.

PS Toast = Badman

SP has the best flow & lyrics of Yunx's MCs, but Toast just instantly makes me feel welcome

LX One is somewhere inbetween them, bit hit & miss with his bars occasionally but his reactions to some tunes are priceless. (E.g the first time Yunx dropped Roteks with LX One on the mic he sounded like he'd just been shot  ) Makes up for it with his sick production though.

Mighty Moe is the only MC I really don't like. I can't listen to the Sin City takeover set from Get Darker anymore because he annoys me so much! Just seen he's doing the Sin City boat party at outlook as well :(

to be honest i find studio mixes pretty boring most of the time. dont get me wrong there has been some amazing ones recently like the kryptic minds one but i just think it feels abit empty without a host
