id presume playing vinyl rips should sound ok if you have ripped them at a good quality, like through a good A/D convertor, but you shouldnt be playing them out if you havent bought the vinyl , i would say it would be alright if you have bought the vinyl and then ripped it to play with serato, but then you may aswell just use the vinyl, unless like you only have CD decks in the club so you burn it to CD to play out in that instance.

but yeah if you havent bought the vinyl dont play rips, thats naughty.

there's nothing "naughty" about playing a rip you did yourself.

there's plenty wrong with downloading an illegal rip to play, but i can't see anything wrong with playing one that you made.

half the clubs/shows i play at dont have decks anymore and CDs are they only option so that's what i do all the time. no harm in it imo.
