EQ isn't musical, it's physical.
Parametric EQ2 is what you'd want to be using.

If you're not using to drop £££ on monitors, maybe some good headphones would do the trick.
Do you say zerbaman? Or do you say zebraman?

what are the dimensions of your workspace / room?

If its not ridiculously small, I got by for a few years with sony hifi speakers. they tend to overpower small workspaces though.

like someone said EQ isn't a musical concept theres no specific rules but basically try to cut out the low ends on everything in the mix except the bass so the sub can power through without percussion and other things getting lost, you dont neccasarily have to be good at EQ'ing to make a really good track but it does make everything sound better when played loudly which in dubstep is a key thing. you haven't really asked for anything else specifically but if theres anything else just ask :)

This, but prolly stay there since they're taking away the bars.

Also, the slicer(C) is a great tool. Use it.

If your refering to the old playlist style with the blocks, its still accesible in 10, you just have to anbale it in options, dont know why anyone would want to use that though

i still use my Sony sound system/speakers. i know it isn't ideal but i feel comfortable using them and i am use to there sound so i can adjust for that! (i think haha)

OP, i found the 'warbeats' tutorials to be really good (on youtube). the guys got a boring monotone voice but he takes things slow and its easy to follow. i reccommend starting from the beginning and watching as many of them as you can!

I would suggest learning about the 3xOSC. Everything about it. It will teach you all the basics of synthesizers, and with that you can do anything.

Yeah, with 3xOSC you can really do anything. Maybe not right out of it, but with resampling, FX chains, etc. you can do anything.

It is the best info you can get regarding mixing, end product as you say.
