Which one do YOU like better? Thats whats its ultimately going to come down to. I use Logic and I love it. But I've also heard very good things about ableton.

everyone is going to say the daw they use is best, honestly just get demos of each and decide for your self. but i can tell u from experience that ableton is a good choice

aren't you old enough to be making your own decisions in life? pick the daw yourself! personal preference!Frodo Bassbins wrote:what is better overall?
Re: ableton or logic?
i have to say, i have been using ableton for the last 5ish years and i still love it.
i recently made the logic switch for some various reasons, main ones being latency problems and CPU usage. ableton will get gnarly with cpu if you put an EQ with anaylizer on every track. not ALL of the plug-ins in ableton are amazing either. i use a lot of 3rd party stuff. though i am much MUCH faster making a quick skeleton in ableton.
thats probably because i dont know logic well enough yet. but over all i can do the same in both softwares. logic i have yet to figure out ultrabeat/dont like the sampler as much. (atleast not yet cause i have not watched a good tutorial for it.)
logic runs amazing though on my macbook, where ableton failed with something like 4 massive instances opened. the sound quality to me sounds better in logic as well(could just be mental thing though). mainly i just love the EQ in logic.
that ALL being said. tons of big guys slay with ableton. flying lotus and nosajthing being two of my favs. and ive seen nosaj's set up and he just uses ableton plug ins for effects. ableton is a FUCKING beast when it comes to live stuff though. and no matter what i would make music in, i would play live with ableton any day.
my suggestion is learn and use both if you want. but both have its plus and minus.
